Add in Avengers movies and JL appearances, Batman is destroyed.

Everyone underestimates Spiderman's popularity. He's arguably the most popular film character and superhero. I'm talking as a single character leading a franchise, not the franchise itself when compared to Avengers or other franchises that have multiple characters.

there were "leaks" of the script that answered this. who knows if they were real but it was the former:

I was in a little lull for this movie, but all this new media coming out for it has reinvigorated the hype train!

Would be awesome to get a HT Batman PO coming out of CNY, but most likely something from BoBF or more NWH.
