Outside of The Batman homerun WB truly is a disaster how a corporation can go from an expensive Super Bowl spot highlighting the big releases guaranteed for this year to immediately doing an about face and altering their entire lineup and using covid as the excuse is beyond baffling.

They wiped out whatever good will they had going on with The Batman.

The Director of Shazam just made fun of WB release strategy and said that Shazam 1 was a Christmas movie released in the spring and now WB is releasing Shazam 2, which he considers to be a summer movie, now on Christmas and against Avatar 2 he said Cameron must be shaking in his boots lol

They seemed to really ground this thing in reality and The Penguin is looking like he’s gonna be the new boss of the Falcone family…but my limited knowledge of La Cosa Nostra tells me that you’ve got to be Italian to be a made guy, much less a boss and I don’t feel like a man named “Oswald Cobblepot” says “Made Guy” so much as “I’m an 11-year old Chimney Sweep in a Charles Dickens novel.” Suffice it to say, since he’s only ever referred to as Oz, do you think they went all in and named him “Oswaldo Coppelbano” or some ****?

Ever hear of La Wor-Ga Nostra?

I honestly still feel like this movie is everything a comic book adaptation should strive to be and it blows my mind that people are letting the realism overshadow the fact that Matt Reeves made a film that cohesively took elements of Year One, The along Halloween, Earth One, Zero Year, and, even, The Telltale Game series and simultaneously set up The Long Halloween, again, Dark Victory, No Man’s Land, and, potentially, even Venom. The entire plot of this movie was one big set-up for Two-Face/Harvey Dent. The current DA gets his head blown off, there’s no way after the Falcone confession that Sal Maroni’s case isn’t dismissed with prejudice, Falcone’s death is likely to leave a battle between not only Maroni and Penguin, but, potentially, Sofia Gigante and Alberto and/or Mario Falcone, if they introduce them, as I suspect they will. I’m hyped.
