Two days later and this film is still resonating like crazy for me.

Certain images and sounds and especially the overall atmosphere just keep circulating in my mind. I almost feel like a scene by scene dissection/analysis of this movie would be doing it a disservice. I feel like old Steve Rogers sitting on that bench, lol.

"Hey Khev do you want to just go off and give a super detailed review of The Batman?"

That's how freaking good it was.

Well I’m glad you liked it and it’s doing well. Almost 500 mil ww. Had a got hood this weekend. So happy for this movie. Everything is going exactly how I said. Now people are calling it a masterpiece while downplaying what came before. Batman fans truly are predictable

A lot of films, even "great" ones, are all about getting to that third act or one or two choice moments that make the movie to the point where you're basically waiting the entire film for those sequences to occur. With The Batman I just want to revisit every single *minute* of it. Sure there's a couple beats toward the end that close things off perfectly but for me this is just one of those movies where you want to inhabit every single frame and experience every moment equally from beginning to end.

And that feeling is even more rare for reboots/first movies in a series. I feel like this is the first Batman film that is 10/10 in quality and 10/10 in atmosphere. Every prior Batflick, including the Nolan ones, all seemed to trade one for the other either intermittently or in bulk in greater or lesser degrees.

True. This was an almost perfect Batman for me... I ding it for length and an ending I didn't care for entirely. But certainly this is the best Batman live-action movie so far. It checks enough boxes for me to be the best.

I won't be burning my existing 4K discs of any prior Batman movies but for me at least this new one is a total package in ways that none of the other films can match.

That said it's crazy how many good and/or entertaining Batman movies there are. From the quality of Nolan to the lolz of Schumacher, there are so many freaking options.

I loved it but never rated it above TDK.

The Batman's Riddler is not as good as Ledger Joker, that's for certain, but few villains are. Nolan and Ledger really captured lightning in a bottle with their Joker. And any time he's onscreen the movie rocks... and every time he's not, TDK downgrades heavily; for me, to "sucks" levels.... because I'm left with:

Ledger Joker has to be the number 1 villain of all time surely... Who else comes close? Vader maybe a close second. As you said, lightning in a bottle. 👌

Ras is a great villain, but he just didn't have a eye popping outfit. Amazing how HT milked Bane, Ledger, Catwoman, etc and nothing from Ras.

And the beauty (and tragedy) of Ledger Joker is that they can't ever destroy what Ledger did. Because he died, his performance remains pristine and untouched. There's no sequel to undermine what he did. He's not going to come back in 20 years for a cash-grab to play Joker again. Unlike Vader, who has been steadily water-down since ROTJ.

Very well said. 🙌🤩
