If we're going for realism, a guy in a suit with a Hoodie and mask is more believable than the aforementioned other two.

OK, I'll meet you half way and see if we can invent a good Riddler look.

I'm willing to work with the hoodie just for you. How about a Mr. Robot kind of genius but autistic type character; Elliot with the hoodie but he favors army surplus cargo pants and dark greens. Maybe he's more of a survivalist type too in the sense of being brilliant but also a loner. Manifesto kind of guy like he is now. It's really not too far of a stretch from where he is now.

Wonder if Reeves will continue with the real life inspirations for his villains. He has mentioned that the Joker has some condition where he cannot stop smiling. Looked like he was burned. There was even a deleted scene that Batman was going to Silence of the Lambs meet Joker and ask him about the Riddler. Not sure if he will go with the John Wayne Gacy route of dressing up as a clown at birthday parties. There is no shortage of past psychos to draw inspiration from.

Sounds a bit like Joker 2019 in using an affliction as the smile gag and his job required him to dress as a clown.

I would think Reeves will go a different way. Since Reeves has taken the "dandy" style away from Riddler AND Penguin, perhaps let the Joker keep his equally flamboyant style. Maybe the justification will simply be that he likes loud, gaudy patterns and colors because it suits his madness and his visual "issue". The Joker moniker might simply be assigned to him based on how he looks (as with Penguin).

Less Joker backstory the better. He also mentioned it was the beginnings of Joker. Guess he wants to lay the foundation with all the villains, so you might not get their full glory villainy at first appearance. I seriously hear him talk about Batman 66 in almost every interview. I think he will keep plucking from that show with some real world inspiration.

Freeze seems to be a one note villain with his wife. Ivy could be something of a chemist, tree hugger and a black widow kind of woman. Prof. Strange or Zsasz could be Jack the Ripper. Clayface/Hush really would be a cool combo.

Speaking of Joker. I think I was right about the Joker actor showing up at the funeral scene.

I knew I wasn't crazy when I saw him in that scene. That's clearly him

Maybe that's why they cut the Joker scene with Batman. Maybe this Joker met Bruce Wayne before he became Joker and ended up in Arkham.

That is weird that also Selina is in this scene to. Seems like a lot was cut out from this part .

Nothing will top Ledger for me, so just give me a classic Joker.

Is that the Covid 19 virus inside his jacket?

That's kind of funny, actually.

It’s funny cause ledger and pheonix raised the bar for joker so high that anybody who takes on the role for joker takes it on as a serious oscar type thing. I don’t think anybody views joker as a comic villain in film anymore. Plus that whole fall in acid and turn into a crazy clown origin was stupid and I hope we never see that again lol.

Can you see him in the theatrical film? I'd never heard of the actor before I googled him during the credits.

Matt Reeves on his Joker

"What you're seeing is a pre-Joker Joker, actually. We go back to the Conrad Veidt, The Man Who Laughs inspiration, which is a Bob Kane-Bill Finger reference. Obviously, that guy has a congenital disease. He's sort of like Phantom of the Opera, he can't not smile," Reeves explained. "Instead of being like the story of the Elephant Man, where his grotesque outward appearance sort of belied the beautiful inside, this would form his nihilistic worldview and he would have an insidious understanding of human nature. That's kind of where this psychology comes from in who this guy would be."

Good, so he's going more organic, in the original origin.
