his entire vision was doomed to fail because it was so spineless
Really? I think he made some bold decisions (some good, some not so much) that are central to why his work was so divisive. I'm all for different opinions, but you can't reference the MCU, and then call Snyder's work spineless by comparison.

And we can't pin every one of those decisions on Snyder. Clearly the studio had certain mandates. They wanted to compete without doing all the legwork.

A stronger film-maker would have held their on regarding any decisions being forced down their throat which they knew to be ill conceived.
You only get so much pull. Especially on a project of that scale.

Snyder definitely held his own. Like him or hate him, his films do feel singular.

Sometimes he gets too self indulgent, and that's where he loses me. I couldn't watch Rebel Moon. And I didn't appreciate them trying to manufacture a Snyder Cut situation with those films.

If Snyder's contributions amounted to little, then how come he's always brought up in conversation?

If something ain't good, people move on and forget. It's been so many years, and Snyder's work still hasn't faded from relevancy.

His Batman and Superman still sell.

Honestly the fact is, the Universe and the stories were left unfinished because they simply did not pull in the numbers they needed to. At the end of the day that's the the reality whether anyone likes it or not. Take his handling of Doomsday and the whole death of Superman saga - i mean, the superman has barely been established, had one film and you decide to stuff introducing Batman, several JL characters AND Doomsday all into a single film? What was the rush? Marvel took a good dozen plus films before they decided to kill any of their main characters. You have to build up the stakes for a death to actually have any impact. And the less I say about Doomsday himself the better...

That is just one of several examples of how his entire vision was doomed to fail because it was so spineless
Calling your opinion "the reality" doesn't work for me.

Ugh. Here we go again. Can we all just agree that Snyder had good ideas but they were destroyed by studio interference? He had interesting concepts but can’t write to save his life and baited his fans for years to think he was coming back when he never was.

Like Snyder wasn’t bad visually but his execution is terrible and I don’t care what any Superfan says you don’t need to be a genius to understand any of his films. He isn’t on that level. And never was.

Anyway as for this film yea. It sucks. I honestly blame joker 2 kinda. I think WB might pump the breaks on bat content sadly. They always get the wrong message. They missed the boat again on fresh face young Batman . Pattinson will be affleck age when this releases.

Sure

He didn't write them. Baited his fans...into getting a 4 hour movie released that they wanted. How dare he!!

And yet many still fail to

lol lord . No I didn’t fail to see anything they are just bad movies .

I understand wanting to release his cut but baiting his fans and being cryptic about coming back was weird. It was weird. Not giving a solid answer and just trolling to try and stay relevant was odd and yea if you think it’s ok for some guy to constantly kick the hornets nest and feed into the toxic nature of his fans then idk what to tell you buddy.

All he had to say was I’m not coming back I’m onto new things.

I never said you did.

Got the cut.

Maybe he wanted to come back. Maybe it's not about making you feel better.

This is extremely frustrating, especially when we see time and resources being devoted to other, lesser projects.

For me, Robert Pattinson and "The Batman" replaced Kevin Conroy and "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" as the best ever acting and story/world adaptation of Batman. I am really desperate for more. But, if they keep ****ing around with other things like Clayface and Supergirl and Booster Gold and this ends up getting canned then I'll always have "The Batman".

As good as it was, I wish they'd never made "The Penguin" and used the time they spent on that getting "The Batman - Part II" made and released in a respectable time.

The reasoning and excuses from Gunn are weak and actually insulting if he thinks they're legitimate and acceptable reasons that we would buy.

Kinda. And you did now be greatful with what you have.

Ok but if it wasn’t confirmed he would then maybe he should have just … shut up?
