I'm not a fan of the unrated/extended or theatrical version on 3D only and unrated/extended or theatrical on 2D only that studios have begun releasing movies on. Both cuts should be available in both formats. They did the same thing with World War Z and Hansel & Gretel.
Only reason why the theatrical versions are only on the 3d disk are because they don't want to spend the money to convert the new scenes into 3d.
The 2d disks should have both versions available via seamless branching though since there is no reason to not have that available.
Yeah, i misread it. I thought the unrated version was only on the 3D disc and the 2D was theatrical only. That's what Paramount did with World War Z and Hansel & Gretel and at first that's what i thought Fox was gonna do with The Wolverine.
I wonder why "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, World" ? There's already a good looking Blu of this.

I have it on the Walt Disney Treasures set, but they cropped the fullscreen version to make it widescreen.
