I was late to Once Upon A Time In The West and saw a very old print at local cinema. But it didn’t matter. That opening just had me mesmerized. I’d never seen anything like it.

Yeah, I saw that earlier today. Didn't even now about that. I almost bought that set a few times when it was on sale. I probably would've never known as I buy movies and tend not open/watch them for a looong time. I still even have tons of DVD's from original release in the late 90's sealed and never opened... :lol

I'd only ever want those 1st 4 movies. Could care less about a newer upcoming set of 6 with the corrected discs. Now I'm not sure if I should ever even buy it. Who knows when or if you'd even get an updated set with the corrected discs..

Yeah, according to Digital Bits, a bunch of Del Toro’s films are coming to 4K also Cronos, Mimic, Crimson Peak, I think there was another one as well??

And T1 is likely this year for the anniversary but not confirmed yet.

A L I E N = Horror
A L I E N S = Sci-Fi
Predator = Sci-Fi
Just me, but I would put Aliens and Predator under Action. They are set in Sci Fi worlds but the action genre stomps all over any sci fi trappings. In the same way horror overrules sci fi for Alien.

I’m same. I’m boxing up for a move and I’m shocked how many dvd and bluray are unopened.

Digital Bits are great at reporting when fixed discs are available and how to identify them and I will copy paste that here when I see it.

I look at those films like Star Wars… I put them in Sci Fi cause it deals with something space related and has action.

They are not true Sci Fi like 2001 or interstellar.

But if my Sci Fi listed consisted of only those type films it would be a very short list :lol

That’s true, I can’t think of many. Both these are earth bound but they are sci fi to me over anything else.

Blade Runner
Close Encounters

RoboCop is a good one. Is it sci fi, action or a comedy?

from wikipedia...

"RoboCop is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by Paul Verhoeven"

my 2¢...

When it comes to these definitions, I see it as Sci-Fi being the subject matter and Action being the tone. There is satire in Robocop, but it isn't 'funny'. It's more cynical commentary.

Fiction, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Historical, comic book = Subject matter

Action, comedy, thriller, drama, horror = Tone

It gets murky though because you can have action comedies like Lethal Weapon, although that could be a thriller action comedy? What is a genre? :lol

Oh I know it isn’t a comedy but it’s real funny. Funnier than most comedies. Psycho is another very funny non-comedy.

It’s nice they are interviewing absolutely everyone (except Sigourney lol!) but after watching a ton of documentaries and reading a ton of books on Aliens I find it hard to believe this will offer much more
