The thing is, Robert Rodrigues is a good director, just look at his filmography
Don’t forget the Spy Kids series, Sharkboy and Lava Girl (wt?), the Machete series and We Can Be Heroes - all classics.

Yeah, see, the few moments of OK filmmaking really doesn't undo the crap that makes up half of his career.

Planet Terror all over again.

That's a good point......Dang!

So we're getting Spy Kids Rodriguez for Boba Fett.

He's not directing anymore episodes is he?
Edited:
Actually he might not be, the last couple don’t have directors credited yet. But but but, the next episode is directed by Bryce Dallas Howard! She had a hit and a miss on Mando from memory.

I thought it was fine, but yeah didn't really like the biker gang aspect. Wasted Stephen Root, hoped he had a bigger role!

I wish we could have got a proper Fett vs Krrsantan fight. The way he was getting manhandled in his underwear was giving Deliverance flashbacks. Thank goodness the only pig squealing sounds were coming from the Gamorreans. :lol
I'm pretty sure BK told Boba "you've got a purty mouth" in Wookie....

Watch Cassian be the greatest TV since GoT.

It's not looking good for the 87 shows they announced post Mandalorian season 2. The Marvel shows are trash and if this laughingstock of a Boba Fett show is a harbinger of the quality of what's to come on Disney + I think it's time to start adjusting expectations accordingly. I know I already have.

Filoni, Favreau and RR have nothing directly to do with Obi-Wan or Andor so there’s that.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned yet what this 80s punk rock girl was doing in the episode, complete with fishnet stockings and leather jacket.

Where has all the "getting the essence of Star Wars" from the Mandalorian gone?
I generally don't expect much from new Star Wars content. Similar to Marvel I see it as mindless but fun entertainment. So I also don't really mind much if they take characters in a different direction than expected. But this series just feels so incredibly lazily and carelessly written.
If this was anything other than Star Wars, I probably would have stopped watching after episode 2, certainly after this one.

I just don't understand where this characterization of Boba Fett is coming from. I wasn't joking earlier - this is a lovely and kind man as presented in the first three episodes of this show - displaying nothing but commendable attributes - respect, understanding, patience, mercy, a desire to help others, affection to animals etc

So how does this line up with the Boba Fett who shot Bib Fortuna dead without any explanation at the end of Mando season 2? This Boba Fett would not have done that, he'd have let him flee with his headtails between his legs. How does it line up with the Boba Fett of the Original Trilogy? I don't see how this Boba Fett was ever a Bounty Hunter willing to work for the Empire and Jabba the Hutt. I don't understand why he decided he wanted to take over from Jabba as the head of a crime syndicate. The characterization they're going with seems more suited to law enforcement or whatever Cobb Vanth was. What's Fett's particular interest in staying on Tatooine anyway?

This is just bizarre.

If they want to salvage this they have a heck of a lot of explaining and ret-conning to do.

Well…..there it is.

As spot on (and hilarious) as Turd has been you pretty much just cut right to the core of the main problem.

That being said….Turd please continue lol

I never understand this POV, it's no different from any other recognisable actor appearing in a show.

It's like people complained when Keanu Reeves was in Cyberpunk... but he's playing a role he's not Keanu Reeves.
Yeah, like I said, I’m normally of the same opinion, but for some reason that was the reaction I had this time. I wouldn’t even call it a complaint, just an honest assessment of my feelings when it happened. Maybe it’s just because it’s Rob Rod and he always has him cameo in stuff, so it was more of an AHA moment for me?
