I also couldn't help but notice Din barely fire his weapons, where he used to be a shoot first, ask questions later kinda guy.

They really put the emphasis on the Darksaber and melee fighting in general, which to me goes right along with these seemingly new Disney Star Wars guidelines: brutal violence is OK as long as it's not gun violence. I expect to see more of that hand to hand, beat each other with clubs and sticks and whatever's laying around the kitchen in both Mando and BoBF going forward.
You could be right but I'm not so sure on that just yet.

Two reasons:

1. Fennec still goes to town with her blaster quite a bit

2. The Darksaber *is* a special sacred weapon and SW has emphasized such "civilized" weapons over blasters from the very beginning.

Mando cut himself with the sabre - that's something that I've always thought about since I first saw lightsabres. They're potentially lethal to the wielder!
Yep and unlike Bobafoon it doesn't make Mando incompetent, in fact it makes him seem like more of a badass that he wields such a scary weapon. I've always believed that lightsabers would be terrifying to wield, lol.

Already did. The armorer chick with plot gender took Mando down easy.
Well, yes, but he hasn't mastered the sword yet, because it's too heavy, and it takes more than physical strength to use it properly. However, when he does master it, he will be the ultimate badass, until he has to fight Bo Katan or some other strong woman, then he'll lose or it'll be a "draw."

Bo Katan already reigned and got her planet blown to hell. I think there will be another Paz ****head that will be introduced in S3 and give Mando and epic fight.

Well that was a good episode of story telling: proper use of flashback, setting tension, compelling and making me wanting more...

Star Wars Mandalorian

Watching it again and holy crap that one continuous shot of Mando at the ring station walking on one level, entering the elevator with the guy, going to the lounge level, exiting the elevator and delivering the bounty while the camera pans around the entire table Pulp Fiction-style then *back* to the elevator and down to a *third* level before they finally cut away was such an awesome way to sell the illusion that he's really in that environment.

The most clever shot of the entire series given to a guest star, lol.

Few thoughts…

Been trying to find a connection with anakin what with mando taking the pod race route but it’s really about grogu and mando’s own spiritual journey towards that end.

I was taken out of SW with them attaching a human to actually having a physical relationship with the ever mysterious Jawas but I just accepted it that she is a desperate wack job who only hangs out with droids so a Jawa companionship is a mutual beneficial partnership yuck!

I didn’t take the armorer taking out mando as his emasculation not even close. You want emasculation just watch BOBF…..wait lol

The armorer in a way was actually getting mando ready for his battle with Heavy!

I agree that the big bubble broke the sleek line of the N1 but once grogu is in there we will all forget about sleek lines and just go awwwww lol

That destruction scene was the best Terminator we have gotten since T2 lol

Those effects were even better than RO explosions!

Check out the look when Fennec's eyes and when they light up when Dar Jin says he will work the job for Boba for free...

Not friggin likely he will take it out in trade...

...and for poor Boba... the 'nightmares' will be back while he spends season two in the bacta tank, while his number 1 and Mando get it on...

When the prequels came out one of the things that Mark Hamill said he didn't like was all the lightsaber twirling. He said that during the OT George told him to treat the lightsaber as this super heavy thing "like Excalibur" that required two hands and a lot of focus to wield properly so I like that they're going back to that in a sense with the Darksaber.

Also the Armorer didn't defeat Mando she specifically said that the Darksaber itself did.

"You are too weak to fight the Darksaber, it will win if you fight against it."

Odder still was seeing what looked like 'normal' middle class people and families disembarking from a mundane and routine commercial flight that had landed on Tatooine looking all smiling and basic. Not remotely the same planet we saw in 1977.
Yeah, very weird to be visiting backwater planets.

Maybe they are arriving for the annual pod racing games... which we never saw again.
Nah, tales of Boba's buffoonery have already reached far and wide, so people are flocking there having assumed (understandably so) that the circus is in town...

Yeah I noticed that about halfway in what they were doing. Bryce been watching some DePalma films.

Yeah dude it was refreshing to finally get a SW blade weapon to be presented as dangerous to the wielder as it is to the opponent.

It was crazy how rapidly heavy Mando transformed into cult mode yikes he went from brotherly friendly to scary real quick.

Totally! :exactly:

Also refreshing to see a completely new environment that was equal parts fascinating and scary. One wrong step on that station and you're off in the void of space, lol.

Love the old George.

At first I was like wut HALO!

But then I was like screw that corny game SW owns your *** now it just out Halo’d you lol

I liked how he fell off the platform and came flying back.

His chrome looked great on the ring.

Bryce Howard > Chloe Zhang lol
