The Goblin King is very close, if not spot on, to how he's described in the book. I thought these goblins might look like the Moria orcs, but i guess having a new breed of goblins makes sense.

I'm also unsure about a large statue of him.... but the detailing in the skin will be pretty impressive, and if he has his crown and is maybe sitting on a throne, i could be persuaded..... we'll see.

I would like a stone giant statue hurling a boulder though :p

That's true, the stone trolls I guess were rather fleshy and flabby too in a way. Its not that I don't like it so much as I find it kind of gross.

Seemingly TRU jumped the gun in some places, while Target, Walmart, and Freddies must have missed the memo or are just waiting for their Fall resets. That's one thing that bothers me about those other stores, is they wait till they want to put them out and ignore the street date. Meanwhile, TRU needs the money, so they just make spots for stuff and get them out on the floor fast.

That's why I ordered online sadly Amazon didn't have enough or something as who knows when I'll get mine from them.

Yea, I'm on the fence about ordering a set of the 6-inch figures from BBTS.

On one hand the 6-inch figures are designed as the "collector" figures, but the 4-inch line has way more product. Seems like the 4-inch line might be the more fun way to go and will surely the line that will complete all the Dwarves first.

I'll get the main core in each but after that its pick and choose time. I'm spending a lot of money on a lot of other items for the hobbit.

for the aussie collectors out there....TRU are getting the figures either next week or week after.
i can confirm both scales plus the 5pk for the 4inch line.
no prices as yet....

off topic but i just found on a local cinema listing in OZ...hobbit releases here 26/12/2012.12 yrs to the day fellowship was released...

Wow, 12 years, damn that's gone fast.

It's great that they're doing that though, on the day FOTR was released, very cool :rock

Does anyone have images of the loose 6" figures posed with Toy Biz LOTR figures? Really interested to see whether or not they're in scale ... theoretically they are, right?

I've seen some comparison pics and generally it seems like the ToyBiz figures are slightly bigger.

We in the UK are getting them in slowly i have only had the 3.75" figures so far. The 3.75" series 1, 5 figure box set and the adventure 2 packs.I have to admit though that Bridge Direct have done an outstanding job with these figures in this scale.

Anyone in Canada seen them around yet?
I'm wondering if I should take a trip to TRU to see if they have any yet. Probably not but I may check it out.

I'm liking this line but sadly they do differ a decent amount in style and a tiny bit in scale. Not a deal breaker but some might stick out. I think you could get by with any dwarfs they make and Bilbo (depending on which version of the hobbits from lotr you are displaying them with) possibly Gandalf (great likeness but might look short) and Tauriel. Legloas does not cut it to me displayed with the Toy Biz ones (with the Hobbit ones he's fine). Any goblins should be fine since they don't have to match up with any of the others so scale and style shouldn't hurt too much.

My Toys R Us had them for days but wouldn't put them out till the 1st. Luckily I was the first to grab any. I made the run for my lunch break. I got the entire 6" set and a warg and Thorin and Bilbo from the smaller scale to see how turned out. My daughter just finished the Hobbit with my last year for Kindergarten and we are reading the Lord of the Rings now and I'm figuring the smaller scale will work great for the kids. Christmas present I can enjoy with the kids. Priceless.

The warg is really neat. The smaller scale has a lot of potential for army build and play sets. I would love to see a Helms Deep or Balin's Tomb set.

Really strange thing at TRU. Two weeks back, I found all the figures - 4-inch and 6-inch and bought all the 6-inch figures except for the extra Thorin. I've been checking this TRU ever since and when I couldn't check, I called. They've never gotten the 6-inch figures back in-stock. I go in today and the 6-inch figure tag is gone. I couldn't find anyone to ask about this, but it was weird not seeing the tag there at all - they had everything else that's currently out, just no 6-inch figures or price tag.

6inch pulled back??or sold out?

The 6-inch figure price tag was up two weeks ago and last week, but was not up this week. The 6-inch figure tag at this TRU was on the shelf, rather than a peg and has been empty since I bought them out. They've re-stocked with other Hobbit figures, but I haven't seen the 6-inch figures since my first report.

Just saw the 3.75 inch line at my local TRU. No sign of the 6 inch. I have to see these look really good IMO. The colors are nice, pant apps look good. No way I'd pay 10 bucks per figure though.

Hit another TRU this morning and found they had put out the Hobbit figures - they wedged them in next to the wrestling figures. This store also did not have the 6-inch figures and did not have tags for them - they did have all of the other items and tags for those.

Rumor has it that wave two of the Hobbit figures should hit around early '13, so there's some good news that wave one should be on the shelves for awhile. I'm sure the 6-inch figures will be somewhat hard-to-find for now, but should level out by Dec.
