I don't think they'll pull this down. I have the set, and it is not the same as the booklet included--it is additional material and lyrics, plus, the last page of the book actually refers you to this extra info downloadable on the web site.

If you can afford this set, I would get it, or ask for it for Christmas from a wealthy relative. It's really impressive.

Hmm, disappointing that this booklet does not come with the set. At least we've got the PDF. Thanks for the link, GTB! I can't wait to get this set though and I'm looking forward to the book mentioned. Like everything else in the films, so much care and work went into the music, it really felt as if Howard had actually written an opera of LOTR and not just scored a film. I'm also glad all the songs are in this!

I got my FOTR Complete Recordings last night. Listening to it is bringing up feelings of nostalgia, it's weird. I feel swept back when I saw the movie for the first time, anticipating it for years. I have been involved in SSW so much, sometimes I forget about the actual movie! The surround sound option is fantastic, it's like sitting at the LOTR Trilogy concert! (I've attended twice, brag :))

There is one thing I have noticed so far though. I haven't gotten through the entire score (it's 3 hrs!) but at "Weathertop" towards the end where Frodo gets stabbed, the choir almost disappears in the background. Is this a mixing mistake?? I haven't checked the CD yet to see if it is mixed the same way but that would suck!

It's also very interesting to listen to the music of FOTR CR (am I the first to use this abbreviation? :)) and the cues are somewhat different from the single CD soundtrack release, never realized how the original soundtrack was altered from the movie to allow a more "Concert-like" listening experience.

OK, I just double checked the track Weathertop on the CD... does the same thing, choir disappears towards the end which is different from the single soundtrack mix. My guess is that that's how the music mix plays in the movie but I'm too lazy to verify that just right now. :)

Hadn't heard about this yet...

Anybody else notice this from the last page of the PDF booklet...
