Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

What's the chances of the wait list working for it, yay or nay? as I see it must have been released last July...

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Not too good at this point... its a figure that's already jumped up in price so I wouldn't expect the waitlist to come though.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Wow man... that is killer looking :rock

Thanks!

nice work..mr peanut.

he looks awesome hot cocoa! is that an eric barclay sculpt? did you paint it up?

Thanks, doc! I have no idea who did the sculpt. I got it off ebay a couple weeks ago for cheap. I was home sick yesterday so I thought I'd paint him up. Still need to seal it, get the gloss on the eyes and paint the Kit Fisto hands I have for him.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Still working on this but since we've had so many snow days lately I was able to get him painted. Here he is so far. Got some tweaking on the costume to do yet and dullcote the sculpt.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Wow... that is looking great. Are you using the V2 sculpt on him? Looks so much better than how it started out :lol But, not digging the gloves; cool that they're poseable, but they just look a bit oversized.

And totally agree with WG; that Bob is gonna be awesome when you get the head back :rock

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Yeah, that's a cast of the V2 sculpt in solid resin so that I could dremel the head for the hat.

I don't like the oversized look of the gloves much either but I couldn't find an acceptable alternative. I'm thinking I can put the hands, gloves still on them, in hot water and shrink them to fit a little more snug. Don't know if it'll work but we'll see.

I wish I could say my Bob sculpt will be back soon but it's been almost a year and a half since I sent it off and, honestly, I don't think I'll see it soon if ever.:(

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Joker looks good.

Stiiiiiiiiiiiiiil waiting on Bob to be finished :)

That's a sore spot for me right now. Still waiting on the Bob head I made to get cast.

Anyways...

Here is my custom Raider. Been wanting to get this done for a long time now.

He's all Hasbro except for the body (Buck) and the hands (Endor Trooper). Just repainted everything and put the robe in a mild dye bath. I'd like to swap out the plastic tubes for a wire in the cylinder around his neck, make and outer robe and find some waist pouches someday but other than that he's done and on my shelf.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Tusken looks great. I thought about doing one of these myself.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Thought I'd post this epic story, two years in the making, here in my customs thread. :D

:fireworks Finally the King get's his hanger! :fireworks

Thanks for the pics, Chase!

Since you didn't want to see pics of this til it arrived I held off on posting the in progress reports but now that you've got it I can go thru the making of process...with pics.

First off, using the pictures Chase sent me I drew several variations of what I thought would look good on paper then I chose one and drew it on a template board in halfed form as pictured.

Then I cut the half template out and sand the edges smooth. It now becomes a 50/50 pattern for me to trace flip over and trace again onto the board that will be the hanger. This ensures both sides of the hanger will match perfectly.

Now the finished product is cut and ready for bolt layout, routing and sanding.

I also did a stress test (redneck style) on one of two bolts and one of two sawtoothed hanger that will be used. It held 22 pounds, a 9# can of stain and 13# step stool, so I figured the finished display will hold about 45 pounds. Plenty strong I assumed. :lol

The two rods that support the sword I custom made from 3/8" bolts, chromed bolt covers I found on ebay and felt.

I cut the steel bolts to length on a chopsaw with an abrasive blade and rethreaded them so that just the right amount stuck out past the cross member on the hilt. Then I modified the chromed bolt covers to fit a bolt thru one and fit one on the hex head at the tip. (Wish I had taken pics as I did this. :( )

Once the entire display was painted I installed the bolts, front and back chrome covers and wrapped them in in felt.
