Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight: Batmobile - Tumbler (relaunch)
I'm not condemning them because they're fragile. Real models like these are fragile. Toys are never fragile. Hence they usually never look accurate and built to withstand heavy use. I'm sure most or rather the enthusiasts here know these are high end collectibles. Which means you don't man handle them or be careless with them. Or enjoy trying to get new replacements and/or parts.
Hence why the Bat was canned. You can't start adding lots of little metal parts which then causes the piece to become heavier for transport. Thats more money. Sure this vehicle is light but it's bulky with the amount of thin parts. Heck, if one was a total klutz, the sharp parts on the model you could yank it off the desk, or it could pull the model up partially in the air and break a part off from a heavy/baggy jersey/clothing. Or even wreck the roof/door. There's so many things you could break on this.
I've lost count of the amount of oh shoat stories from somebody breaking simple things on their figures to these vehicles. It sucks but it happens. It always amuses me how some people always calls these things toys. Then they're after replacement parts.
These vehicles are just not meant for people that has the habit of being a klutz. Saying that, I'm not saying everyone is a klutz but accidents do happen. Even to the best of people. Or worse, when visitors come over.
jye should have a warning sign, touch and you die.
You know those signs that you always see in museums, don't touch yet they do it. That then lead to behind glass. Then eventually in glass but tourists couldn't reach/touch the glass.
But you're right that they should hold up.
