that reminds me...

How come Batman never used the Sonar to attract the bats ever again?
that thing could have come in handy a lot of times, he could have used it like EVERY night...

The thing never, ever shows up again in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, despite how effective it proved to be and how easy it was to carry. It fit inside the sole of Batman's boot, so it's not like it would have used up any room in his utility belt. Did we miss the scene where Batman swears off using this device for moral reasons?

How is this not useful ever again? Like later in Batman Begins, when Batman is overrun by crazed citizens and nearly beaten to death -- why not disperse them painlessly by siccing hundreds of bats on them? Or in The Dark Knight, when he ambushes the mobsters and gets bitten by a dog in the process: He could just call on the bats and catch everyone while they're busy freaking out.

Seriously, think about it: Batman is all about image. It's the entire reason why he has those pointy ears on top of his cowl and why he shapes all his boomerangs like bats and so on. He wants to be seen as more than a man, as a mythological creature that punches bad people. If his whole deal is to strike fear into the hearts of the wicked, he should use this even when he's stopping street muggings and convince everyone that he's literally made out of bats. You know, like some sort of ... Man-of-Bats or something.

It was a gadget. Filmmakers don't like to use the same gadgets over and over in a series of films. Think Jame's bond.

In BB we got the bats, in TDK we got the sticky gun, in TDKR we got the EMP rifle.

What's the point of having a utility belt if you're gonna limit the gadgets? :dunno

That's right...It aint Batman without Shark Repellent aerosol spray in that belt or a pill that if you drop in water a new Batsuit comes out...LOL

There's not a whole lot on his utility belt anyways. :dunno

Another flaw in Nolan's films. :monkey1

Also wasn't that Batman's best weapon; his mind? And most of the time, didn't he make his own weapons? For sure, his utility belt always had gadget that impeccably fit the situation. :lol

That's what makes me sad about these Nolan films.

I ain't hating! Just saying the truth. That doesn't mean I don't think that this is the best Batman trilogy ever! I mean, crap; aside from that I think this series is rather well done. Plus he closed it off really well.

"WHERE'S THE TRIGGER!!!??"

:blissy

I mean the bat sonar wasn't even in his belt it was in the shoe, I can understand not wanting to use the same gadget in two movies but
it also makes me think, he didn't even carry that much in that stupid belt. he didn't really have that many gadgets to begin with.

:lol

I know, right? But this is Nolan's Batman.

I'm biased from growing up with the animated series and casually reading the comic books.

Yup. Grew up watching the animated series almost every day. :lol

I just view them as two completely different universes and styles. Which they are.

There's some loney **** that goes on in the animated and comics. (which are most of the time pretty great). But it wouldn't work with this version.

I'm trying to think, did the Burton films reuse gadgets at all between 89' and Returns? I don't think they did.

:lol:lol:lecture

Exactly, you have to make peace that this is someone's interpretation. You have to view 'em that way. You have to make peace with that.
