The "New 52" suit looks more reminiscent of the costume from the Arkham games - especially the way the the cape drapes over the shoulders, the huge black-printed "Bat" logo on the chest, and the armor pieces that are attached on the gauntlets and boots. The only similarity that I can see that it has with the TDK suit, is the shape of the cowl.

The lines all across the suit are similar, the armored vambraces are similar, the coloring overall is similar. Hell, even the bat, while a bit larger, still coincides with the bat and the black stripe across the chest of the TDK suit.

Not exactly, the "New 52" suit does look very similar to the one from Arkham, especially when you compare it to the concept sketches from the video games. Another similarity between the comics and the games, are the armored neck pieces behind Batman's cowl, which are missing from TDK suit.

The picture that I posted above isn't the best one, but you could find some additional ones from a google search.

The lines across the suit are a lot different. The lines on the TDK suit are present due to the separation of the plates; the lines on the new 52 suit are much less prevalent and are there for aesthetic purposes. The coloring's really not that similar. The new 52 suit is grey, and the TDK suit is primarily black with a few grey highlights on the carbon fiber plates. To be frank, they aren't similar in the least.

The Bat isn't similar, either. The TDK bat is much more angular and stylized, while the new 52 Bat is a larger, more classic symbol. The similarities between the vambraces goes about as far as them being vambraces. TDK, again, is more stylized, and high tech. They're also more solid. It seems like the New 52 gauntlets consist of various separated plates, each with a blade (which are also closer to the classic "blades" than the Nolan counterparts), layered over a glove. It would work Faust fine on film, and the general public would be able to differentiate them just fine.

They're still lines across the suit. Now stop and think for a second how they'll make those lines play out in live-action.

Wrong. The cowl, cape, gloves/vambraces and boots are black. The belt is gold. While the body of the suit isn't completely gray, there are large chunks that are and there's a black bat on the chest. I'm not saying it's identical, but you stating they aren't similar in the least is absurd.

I was referring to the coloring and the fact that there's no yellow backdrop for the bat. In that context, it is, very much so. The only thing that separates them is the size and design of the bat.

No, they're pretty similar. Also keep in mind that with TDK, the blades are separate and can shoot off, which makes them even more similar. As a matter of fact, the very fact that they are armored instead of being just part of the gloves like they are historically, is very much in tune with the Nolan Batman suit.

I'm the last person to want to defend a Nolan film due to all the overhype but ****, even I can see this, guys. :lol

So Nam, you're grand statement is that batsuits have similarities?

:lol

My point is that that new 52 suit isn't much different at all. If I was the director and my art department came to me with the New 52 design after I told them I wanted something that put a stamp on this incarnation of Batman as unique, they'd either be fired or we'd just go with the TDK suit. At the very least, the black aspects should be blue.

It was a joke you sensitive little girl. :lol

Dude, you never reply to me except to use that same line over and over again. 6 months ago when Nam originally used it I did at least acknowledge him for being original. :dunno

Well I could care less about being "original" on the internet. It was just in good fun. I don't even have any issues with you. I just can't help but see "nutsack" everytime I see your username. :lol

Hey some people call me Whorehees. :D

So the documentary Dark Knight Reborn is on a disc but it only comes in the steelbook or collectors edition at Best Buy. Disappointed with this as I want the standard case to match Begins and TDK on the shelf. But I really want the documentary so I'll get the steelbook.

Its all good, I thought you were wanting a response like that tbh. :dunno
:1-1:

I only own TDK on blu so I'm trying to decide whether I want to just pick up all three steelbooks or the Trilogy box set. I like box sets but the steelbooks just look more classy for these.
