I just watched bits and pieces again.

One of my favorite scenes was Batman's first appearance (after about a half an hour of him not being on screen) in the garage with the EMP gun.

Boy does that excitement and build up die off quick with that obnoxious cop. He shoots Batman's EMP gun within seconds of Batman's return and he says . . . "sorry"? "Get back in the car before you shoot someone's eye out!" Dumb "humor" and cheese.

I'm sure that's just a nitpick for most, but man, what a mood killer. The cops in these films really stink, myself included. They're pretty damn incompetent in TDKR, from Gordon and Foley to stuntmen and extras. They can't do anything without Batman's help.

I mean TDK had the "poultry SWAT cop" riding along side Gordon with the obnoxious lines, but atleast they didn't kill the mood of any of the main characters.

Nah, I liked that scene. It was epic/exciting AND funny. It was missing both of those things up until that moment. It was cheesy but it wasn't nearly as funny as that dude's hate flying off his head. And I am not so sure that was meant to be funny. :dunno

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...no, that's not funny. To be honest, I even laughed at the Batman goes to France one. Why? Because it was subtle. Batman vs. the English Midget? Really? That's the best you could come up with? :slap

Not trying to funny it's true

You were clearly trying to be funny, otherwise, you wouldn't have taken the time to include an "lol." Seriously, though, the Tom Hardy is short **** is getting old. Are we in elementary school here? Disregard that last part, your grammar tells me all I need to know.

The two cops were straight out of Frank Miller's TDKReturns. They're even in the animated version.

I know that. The whole, "you're in for a show tonight son" exchange.

But that's where it ends. In TDKR they just keep going with it. "Sorry", after the rookie, I guess, accidentally destroys Batman's new toy with his gun? The senior cop telling the rookie to put the gun away before he puts someones eye out?

The whole, "I think you got the wrong animal sir". Batman's whole return is lighthearted and campy, and the cops are the cause. There's a tonal shift there, no tension at all. I mean this is Batman's big return here. He's been a wanted man, he killed Harvey Dent and it seems like every cop in Gotham is on his tail. But nah, you got Foley cracking jokes, "he's as stupid as he dresses, IMMA catch me a Batman" and other cops acting incompetent and silly as hell.

I dunno, seemed silly. Batman himself is REALLY ridiculous in this one. I kinda dig it, the whole open mouth, silly voice thing that's been parodied. Not as a hero or cool, serious character, but as a joke or impersonation. I mean, is Bale as Batman in TDKR any better than Clooney (who somehow was able to bob his head in a rubber suit)? That's not trolling either, he's ridiculous in this one. It's like with TDKR this stuff finally got fantastical and silly and Bale was doing an impersonation of Batman, not really being him. They're winking at the audience constantly, especially when Catwoman disappears and he's like, "so dats what dat feels like" in his batvoice.

Ugh will just shut up. It's a damn movie who cares as long as you like it lol.

You try too hard, it blows your cover.

Man you're really in this place frequently since I've come back to posting in here. ****in checking, ****in posting, rebuttals, you're in here quite a bit now.

Before I'd look and you weren't in here at all. Maybe a few posts in the span of two months?

Wats da matta wofford? It's not like I'm attacking Daniel Day Lewis or Lincoln here (both better than TDKR).

The worst bit for me was the way they shoe horned Robin into it.

I'd have prefered it to have been left open whether Alfred really see's Bruce in Florence, may be just have the back of Bruce's head and Alfred smiling...... was it Bruce, wasn't it Bruce?

The biggest problem was though how do you better TDK? i don't think you can but TDKR does give TDK a fantastic companion piece.
