Israeli Actor Alon Aboutboul (Munich, Body of Proof, Fringe) has reportedly been cast as a "particularly evil mad scientist" in The Dark Knight Rises. This news came from an Israeli news website and was confirmed by Aboutboul's wife via Twitter. This gels with a leaked plot synopsis from a few weeks back that read "Batman deals with being a wanted vigilante, as Hugo Strange, a mad psychiatrist hatches a plan to take him down and become the new Batman." Of course, this also gels with what Gary Oldman said while doing rounds for "Red Riding Hood" - that the film features one of Batman's oldest foes... from 'way back'. And for anyone who has been keeping track, Hugo Strange was the first major villain to be associated with the film via rumor and hearsay, and the plot of the film was said to be using the "Prey" story arc as its blueprint (the way BB used "Year One" and TDK used "The Long Halloween").
Granted, Strange's inclusion hasn't been confirmed (though its almost 2am as I write this so by the time I wake up it may have been) but if he is a part of this, my excitement just rocketed further. I have no opinion on Aboutboul (though imagining him bald, bearded and spectacled I see him in the part) but in Nolan I trust!
