Re: The Dark Knight Rises

With it being their very first encounter I just wonder how early it happens. It seems like it would need to be in the first 30 minutes to allow enough time to develop the rest of his story. I also wonder if the Lazurus pit will come into play for Bruce.

:lecture Yeah it would have to happen fairly early in the film in order for the story to lay out nicely without feeling rushed. I was talking to some friends the other day and one of them thought that if they were to have Bane break Batmans back and have him fully recuperate from that to fight crime again it would go against what Nolan has done up to this point;reality. Basically he thought it wouldnt be realistic. I dont know though, can you be in optimum shape, get your back broken, become paralyzed and make a full recovery back to peak physical condition?
Batmans peak physical condition at that. I guess nothing is impossible though its probably unlikely. What do you guys think?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I don't think it's anymore unrealistic than having a guy dressed up as a Bat go around fighting people armed with guns and come home with just a few cuts and bruises

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

It doesn't have to be a back break. It can be a physical injury accompanied by a huge mental block. Kill someone he cares about, etc. I mean, they did it in TDK, but it'd be more realistic if it was a lesser injury but part of his issue was some mental hurdle he had to get over while physically recuperating.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I broke my back in football after my freshman year of college. I wasn't paralyzed but had some nerve damage and my left leg would drag a bit. I was back up and at it three months later and ready for the next season. So as long as he's not paralyzed it can work in the story.

This is exactly what I was thinking and feel like this is the road that will probably be taken. And while yes he is a man dressed as a bat beating criminals up Nolan has gone to great lengths to make it as realistic as possible inside that context.

Wow well done on the recovery then! :clap

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Damn, now that the rumor mill is starting and potential spoilers are starting to rise, I think it's time for me to leave this thread. :( It's so very tempting, but I want to stay as spoiler-free as possible (besides trailers, promo shots etc.).

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

To be honest everything discussed so far is probably going to be in the trailer - if batman is broken early in the film, no way that's not going to be evident in the trailer!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah it probably will, at least I hope so. :lol I remember before TDK came out though, I read somewhere by accident that somebody important will die, most likely Rachel. It wasn't really a stretch, and it didn't ruin the experience for me or anything, but I was a bit bummed that I read it beforehand. Just don't want something like that happening again.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Has this been posted already?

Just saw it, they are saying it's a promotional pic for the new film.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

That's from Rescue Dawn.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Am I the only one who thinks the armor looks really grey. Like they are going for the comic look?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Most likely is that this is just an early promo image from a licencing exibition, and they don't want THAT to be how they reveal the new suit.
