Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I've been on this thread a while and never heard about the hand:dunno maybe I missed it or something. Also, I have never seen those leaked pics. really cool.

I don't think people realize how easy it is to put together different dialogue in a trailer to make sense of it. Bruce could say "what if he doesn't exist anymore" anywhere in the movie and they can throw it in the trailer.

That's true but in this case, it's a pretty open shut case with the leaked pic also.

And no worries I don't expect everyone to be 100% up to speed on the thread like me

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Glad someone posted these pics. Don't know if these are scaled down becauseit will be smaller in the next movie or these us just minitures for simplar sunts. I know they used various sizes in TDK to get the shots and stunts they wanted. Maybe I'm wrong the just look small wehn next to the pick up truck

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

that is an awesome pic of the Tumblers....so...what do you guys think of the trailer??? Looks like a mess so far. Bane and Catwoman? Not that great of villains iyam. Why not the Penguin or the Riddler?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Why do Riddler and Penguin again??? Nolan is doing Bane over to give him and fans justice who enjoyed the Knightfall storyline... Catwoman is a big Batman villain as well...

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Riddler? Watch the Saw films.

Penguin? Burton ruined that character.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I would love to see Nolan's spin on the Penguin and Riddler. Catwoman? Not so much. Bane is a neat idea but he's not as well known as the Penguin and the Riddler. Didn't Nolan say this is the last Batman he is doing?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

also there was a description of each scene posted online from www.comicbookresources.com on what each scene in the teaser was showing. its not 100% confirmed, but comicbookresource.com is supposed to be a respected source:
Gordon in Hospital Scene:

Gordon is in hospital for smoke inhalation after Bane sets fire to a building that Gordon and SWAT officers are in. Gordon barely escapes. Bruce Wayne has hung up the cape and cowl prior and goes to the hospital in his Lamborginhi as Bruce Wayne and before entering puts on a black face mask which leads to a fight with a Police Officer.

Bane Close Up Scene:

This is Bane's first scene in Gotham and is when he arrives via boat at Gotham Docks. He and his goons take out the security guards and the one Bane takes out he leans over which is the screen close up.

Climbing the Well Scene:

That is Bruce Wayne climbing the well and is set outside the Indian Castle although I don't think it is set in India in the film (unsure?) and is Bruce Wayne escaping from the League of Shadows with the castle being one of their locations and training facilities.

Bane vs Batman Scene

That is actually the climax battle where Bane has lured Batman to their lair for a final showdown and is in a warehouse near the docks I believe. Batman initially battles dozens of goons before Bane shows himself not scared of a fight and wants it 1 on 1. Catwoman actually arrives and assists Batman in defeating Bane and helping him escape. Catwoman fights goons while Batman battles Bane in a brutal battle. I'm told it gets really brutal and Bane IS taller or at least the same size as Batman even tough in real life Tom Hardy is smaller than Bale.

Yeah, I don't buy this either. The climax scene doesn't sound like Nolan's style.

Ra's isn't even close to a top tear villian but he turned out pretty good. I have no problem with skiping the big names for some of the little guys (and gals.)

Why repeat villains that's been done before?

I personally would have loved to see Clayface on the big screen.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Just personally, because there is a certain realm of villains that go hand in hand with the hero. I personally, probably because of the Adam West show, always see Batman's top teir villains as Joker, Riddler, Penguin, and Catwoman. Not to mention these villains are some of the most interesting in comic history and can carry as much movie as Batman himself.

It doesn't bother me too much that we aren't going to see Riddler or Penguin, but it would have been nice since this is the definitive/best Batman media to watch for alot of us, and having those villains would make it that much more perfect to me.

And frankly while Returns maybe passable, the Penguin sucks. And to get a movie Riddler fix, we have to pop in Batman Forever? ____ that. Just would have been nice to see a 4th or 5th movie with a little larger rogues gallery.

Thats what the Arkham City / AA games have right, the huge array of villains makes it all feel like a very complete experience.

But having said that, I also get that Nolan is focusing on Batman's story/journey rather then the villains like Burton.

Think of it like this, you could just reskin Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell games to look like Batman, and call it a Batman game, and technically that works, but to really make the player feel like Batman, it takes more then sneaking around, but to actually fight and best the Joker, Riddler, Penguin etc, makes the Batman experiance a more complete one.

The problem is you have to look no further than The Dark Knight to see that the villian pretty much stole the show. People remember the Joker more from that movie than they do Batman.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

For me, the villains are the best part of batman. It's awesome to see his transformation. But the villains all have their own personalities and ways to challenge batman.

As for the Joker stealing the show, he completely did. Kinda reminds how Darth Vader stole the show in the Original Star Wars trilogy. That's definitely not a bad thing though.
