Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I don't like fan films.

As for the suit, I agree. While it makes sense for Batman to have armor (thanks to Frank Miller and Tim Burton) I think they've gone too far. I'd like to see something more streamlined, perhaps armor underneath a type of fabric if Batman really needs it. We've had rubber suits for 7 films now. While it was innovative in the beginning I think it's time for something new.

If they made a period piece of an early, pulp, late 30's/40's Batman he wouldn't really need armor. It would be cool to see that sort of evolve.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

This is the best representation of Batman, in a traditional suit during film. (short film). It's because the mood/lighting/design of it all works together.

that was pretty cool, except for the really bad Carnival scene lol,
but I liked it a lot,

this makes me think, the problem with Batman movies is that they seemed to try to make them too bigger than life, Batman and his villains are already bigger than life, seems like a more down to Earth, more simplistic detective story should be how a reboot is done,
I love the beginning and the ending, and Batman talking over, really loved that,

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I couldn't watch too much of that film. It was well made for what it was but it was just bleh. Especially Joker. Ugh.

I'd be down for something like AA/AC in future films. But I don't see them scaling it back much after having done it this way for so long.

Look how they went on Supe's new digs tho, they may want to get as far away from realistic as possible next, giving us a classic suit, more distinct Gotham, and characters like ManBat or Killer Croc would certainly do that.

Did you make it to the nightclub scene? Definitely one of the higher points.

Add Clayface in there and that'll be one fun trilogy of movies! You do make a good point with Superman. I'd prefer a dark, dark, almost black gray though with black cowl and cape. Light gray and blue just looks silly to me if it's not going to be a '30s/'40s pulp action flick.

and a Detective Batman, hopefully,

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

He looked good in Batman Dead End

But armor will always be needed or he would be dead in seconds.

Swat teams don't do raids in pajamas for a good reason. :lol

I think Nolan got it right, i'm not sick of it. :dunno

Look at the best of the best spec ops we drop into a foreign country by themselves often times with nothing more then a hand gun. The idea is stealth, hanging from Gargoyles, busting through vents, I love this quote from Arkham City game designer Sefton Hill.

"He's the bad guy for the bad guys. He's the bogeyman. He appears out of nowhere - it's almost like he's cheating."

Batman doesn't walk upto people, he shouldn't be getting shot all the time, once every few years he gets grazed is realistic enough for me. If he's getting that complancent he may as well be Mr. Freeze in a full suit of armor that just conducts raids like Robocop through the front door.

and a Detective Batman, hopefully,

Yep, Detective, Forensics training Bruce, Classic Style suit, and same dark tones but with more unrealistic villains (Freeze, Croc, Clayface etc). But still handled realisticly and with real intentions.

That will work, I buy it. :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Why the hell is John Blake getting merchandise/toys? First the Movie Masters 7" figure confirmation, now this?

Gotta wonder if those Grayson rumors are true. I mean, why make product of him with the likes of the central, comic characters like Batman, Bane and Catwoman? That's two toys now.

Also, here's Batman unmasked as he appeared on the bridge at the New York shoot.

Looks like the Tumbler in Pittsburgh wasn't repainted and the black one will return.

Well Batman has had 8 years sitting in the bat-garage to fix the black Tumbler. :yess:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

If John Blake get's a HT figure before Commissioner Gordon, I'ma kill a _____.

He must be a pretty circled character to get action figures of him though.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is WAY better than this piece of s#!+ movie will ever be. Period. :lecture
