Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I have to agree with Celtic and company on the poster thing. Struzan's work is nothing short of legendary, and it's pretty blasphemous to make fun of it. Just saying.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I wish all posters were like his. I've loved them since I was the kid. Especially The Thing's.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The Thing is probably my favorite too. That image was burned into my mind at a very young age, and there it has stayed ever since.

Same here. Even before I knew what it was. And then I watched it. And I was amazed.

It's a great movie.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I must admit I always LOVED the Back to the Future posters, there is something so epic about them, I dont know, it really is Epic, since I was little even before seeing the movie that image got stuck in my head

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

One of the best of the horror, or of any genre. I believe I was about six years old when I first saw it, and I will never forget that evening. During the dog kennel sequence, I was so stunned, so hypnotized by what I was seeing, that I forgot to be scared. It is of course, a very frightening film. Frighting and brilliant. It seems to only get better with age.

Look at these things. Look how amazing these posters are.

I love all these. I have a couple of Drew's books. He's a fascinating guy, and a talent in a class all his own. Hellboy is a favorite, as is his unused Pan's Labyrinth poster. Stunning work.
It's a crime this art form is dying out, and hardly anyone seems to care. I hate today's sterile photoshopped movie posters so much I can taste it.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Same here. Sometimes they're good. But it's so far in between.

Also, I think I was about 9 or 10 when I saw The Thing. I watched it earlier at one point, but forgot about it. But I remember it being really cool. Then I got the game, and played that for hours. So I wanted to see the movie again. It impressed me. So very, very much.

I thought it was a great movie as well. It had some pretty tense moments, like this one.

Did the remake suck like 99% of all remakes?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I saw it for free. I didn't hate it.

Everyone in the audience groaned. Because they thought there was going to be a Thing 2.

My thoughts exactly about movie posters now! The movie poster artist has now become a "dear art form". Drew was one of the last. He is my favorite artist...hands down! I have most all of his movie posters, books, collector plates, etc. I'm a HUGE fan! He, along with the late John Alvin, Steve Chorney, and the late Bob Peak, and Richard Amsel were the last group of amazing poster artists. I know Drew's retired now, and richly deserves it. I will always respect and admire his work and contribution to many of our favorite movies with stunning poster art !

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

None of Drew's posters are as good as these,
