Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'm gonna try and go into this with low expectations, looking forward to bane, Catwoman and the whole film really, but historically speaking it's probably gonna be the worst in the series.

Usually the first or second of a series is the best followed by the first or second remaining and then the third and then the fourth if applicable.

Film series - order of films quality:

Spider-man: 2 - 1 - 3
Terminator: 2 - 1 - 3
80's/90's Batman: 2 - 1 - 3 - 4
Alien: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
Blade: 2 - 1 - 3
Superman - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
Robocop: 1 - 2 - 3
Planet of The Apes: 1 - 2 - 4 - 3 - 5
Pirates of The Carribean: 1 - 2 - 4 - 3
X-Men: 2 - 1 - 3
The Mummy: 1 - 2 - 3
Star Wars OT: 1 - 2 - 3

So likely it's gonna be The Dark Knight - Batman Begins - The Dark Knight Rises

There are exceptions like Return of The King, Revenge of The Sith and probably more i can't think of right now, but it's not a good sign for the film.

your argument automatically becomes invalid when you mention Revenge of the sith, lol :slap :rotfl jk

but I don't think this movie applies, this movie was planned, what I mean is, everyone knew there was a third coming, the fans knew, the director knew, the batman guy knew, I think when you have a clear goal in mind and you have a story from the beginning, the third movie ends up being good (like lord of the rings)
the problem with some of the movies you mention ( like the Mummy and Blade) is that the sequels were made because the first one made money, not because it was intended, it was more of a cash grab, Terminator 3 was Definitely a cash grab, there really is no reason whatsoever for that movie to exist,

even if the movies were not necessarily cash grabs, then movies take too long to be made and they change writers and directors, in this case the same person is overseeing the whole project,
I really cannot see how Nolan could make two really good movies and totally screw up at the third, at the end,:dunno it might happen, maybe, but I feel it is unlikely,
I think they are running a tight ship with these batman movies, I think is unlikely it will be bad or not as good as the Dark knight
thats just, you know, my opinion

TDKR is doomed, it being the 3rd film. I'm probably not even gonna bother watching it.
