Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Strange indeed hence my comment that this is probably the calm before the storm... it has to be :dunno

Unless it goes back to a more Begins-esque marketing campaign, I feel like that movie didn't quite get the hype TDK had.

It's such a tough call, if you go nuts like TDK, you build an expectation of what the movie will be and have to deliver, if you go more Begins-style and keep things sort of quiet and let the movie hype itself when people see it.

Well I doubt it is a deliberate back to Begins style mainly because I suspect the primary reason Begins didn't have a major marketing push was finances.
Begins did reasonably well and TDK had a bigger budget, which helped with the marketing spend clearly when it came to the months leading up to TDK's release.
TDKR has the biggest budget of them all so i'm sure they have plenty in the tank to go ballistic in the last 2 months.

There is the off chance though that either they are completely relying on TDK audience to come and watch this without having to spend too much to get them in the seats, or Nolan really wants people to go in as blind as possible.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I just feel like the hype of TDK is putting a lot of pressure on people on how to market this one, particularly when it took them longer to get this film together working the story to a point where Nolan could feel confident that he could deliver and equal film in his eyes. As successful as Begins was, I don't think people looked to TDK with expectation based on it to the levels people will look to TDKR.

Can't argue there. The pressure is most certainly ON

Not only because of how well TDK was received critically and commercially, but also Inception.

Nolan has had 2 major hits in a row, it will be tough to make it a third.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Every poll, even after the awesome Avengers trailer, has TDKR winning out as the most anticipated movie this summer by huge percentage numbers.

I'm sure WB isn't worried.

One more trailer is all they need.

Ah jye the lolcat speaker of truth :yess:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

They should can the movie. Put it in the vault for 10 years, and release it, while calling it "THE LOST FILM"..

:lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

and,
A woman in Black beat the Hobbit?

Neither Cosmopolis or Woman in Black has the coverage or the anticipation all these other movies have,

I have no doubt that all the people voting in this thing are jersey shore fans, seriously is only because of Daniel Radcliffe and Robert Pattinson

Well, they're part of an audience that are seeing movies too.

You don't think there's a message board, somewhere out there, that has a bunch of obsessive Twilight fans or Jersey Shore fans, or Harry Potter fans?

I know there is, but that poll was not posted on a Twilight or Harry Potter message board, it was posted on mtv, which sucks,
my point is that someone voting for their favorite actor instead of what movie will be best is kinda silly, I love Batman because of Batman, not because of Bale, he was in terminator Salvation and that movie sucks, Im not going to defend the movie just because he is in it, that seems dumb lol. I mean, it is just a retarded mtv poll after all, I dont really hate Twilight that much, but their fans do get to me sometimes,

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

^ You do realize most people don't give two ____s about movies right? They don't care who made it, they only care who stars in it, where they took their last dump, and who they ____ed,

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

lol the only reason Dark Shadows made it that far was because of Depp...:slap:lol
I know no one cares, but that poll is so biased on "hotness"
I guess I am really surprised Twilight Breaking Dawn didn't win first place, seems like it should have
