Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Exactly. There's nothing confirming that it does.

Supposedly it got spoiled (like the Batpod in 2007) and there's buzz around it on the net. There's a listing for a Tumbler/Bat transforming toy and there will be a Batmobile documentary on TDKR DVD (featuring all 5 film Batmobiles). In this sneak peak one of the WB/Batmobile collectors leaked the secret. Basically said that the Tumbler's special feature, other than the jumping capabilities was the Batpod and that the new one will turn into a flying hovercraft.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The Batpod was easy to buy, but The Bat is a whole different beast. There would have to be a whole new kind of Batmobile to change into that. Not just another Tumbler.

That just seems crazy. :cuckoo:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, my thoughts as well.

Though,

I remember people in 2007 and 2008 thinking that the Batpod ejecting from the Tumbler was ridiculous too. "So the Batmobile becomes a motorcycle . . . get out of here". Even when the toys were shown people weren't convinced.

If this all turns out to be true, and it certainly appears to be (everyone is pissed at that guy for spoiling and it makes sense that Mattel wouldn't mess up the surprise like they did in 2008) then I'm going to have a helluva time accepting it. Seems way too gimmicky.

There was that covered, black Tumbler in Pittsburgh. Wouldn't surprise me if it was "new". Still, lame.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I do not think is that ridiculous, I think is fine. actually i think it might be amazing

specially if they do some amazing transformation, I could see how it changes since where the cockpit in the bat is not that big anyways. it looks small, so the whole thing probably moves parts all around,

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Did you see that pic above? It's anything but small. It's in the background while the Tumbler is in the foreground and it's still double it's size.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

It's got no underbelly, the cockpit is small, it's very spaced out.
It might work. Just saying.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

That transformation thing really bugs me. If that is really the case, then I think Nolan completely misunderstood why people liked his Batman films so much.

There would have to be a lot of parts sliding, expanding, disappearing and coming out of no where. Even the glass would have to do that! It would be like the size changing in the Transformers cartoons. :lol

Talk about more than meets the eye! :google

Oh and here are some shots of Batman in the wienerpit:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I dont think is that big of a deal, They will explain why and how, they will show the transformation, and it will look super amazing, is not that bad for me

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I hope that isn't what Chris Nolan meant by "going to unusual places". :monkey4

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Why not just make the Tumbler change into a menacing mech with legs, you know, a damn robot!

Wait!

:slap:

Guys - please edit your posts regarding any discussion on this top in spoiler tags. I inadvertently saw what was being discussed and I wish I hadn't :mad:

Would've been insane to go in and see the transformation without knowing about it already! Anyway, i'm also pretty surprised as the Bat is indeed MUCH larger than the Tumbler. But if they're doing it, I am certain it will be explained and shown in a convincing way, that's Nolan's speciality. Gonna be a great scene, can't wait!

I'm sure (if it is true) that the tumbler transformation is going to be heavy advertised in TV spots. So you didn't hear much.

But yea, can't wait to see what it does do!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

There won't be anymore trailers, you will have to trust that Nolan/WB will give us an outstanding movie and you will go in seeing everything fresh.

Imagine if movies went that way, zero trailers or photos, you just go in 100% fresh and be surprised on everything!

:thud:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Everytime a new movie is announced I try and restrain myself from pouring over pics and spoilers on the net. Never works though!:slap

Before I saw TDK, I thought the batpod looked lame as hell then when I saw how it came out of tumbler in the movie I was like :bow
Had no idea before hand that it was gonna do that and thought it was amazing.
