Well, I said I cried. And I did. I've never cried watching a trailer before.

I think the Whedonites and Nolandrones should all just have a knock-down, drag out brawl and leave the rest of us to discuss the works of those two guys with at least a semblance of rationality.

And you all need to get a hold of yourselves to varying degrees.

Relax... Take a deep breath. If you invest too many emotional and psychological chips in a single movie you will eventually regret that. Trust me.

Enjoy it for what it is. And it's cool enough without framing it with biblical proportions.

(Also, we need our Mods here to retain their sanity )

I might cry at the opening , I will light sunglasses and a hat just in case, I dont want no one filming me and then it becomes one of those youtube vids that reach a millions views titled "Guy Cries at Batman opening"

I'm not offended in the slightest, but I have to admit it does give me pause if some of these reactions are genuine and not just the usual hyperbole. Sorry is that makes me a party pooper. Perspective is a hell of a thing.

I never got a epic feeling from Return of the King and it's never ending ending.

It was a great trailer and completely sold me on 2 things: the scope of the film will be HUGE and I am now sold on Bane as a solid threat. His voice is creepy as hell and I love what Tom Hardy is doing with his eyes when he tells Bruce "Your punishment has to be more severe" (paraphrasing!) Just a lot going on in his eyes and that is how i believe he will sell this role effectively. I am also going to agree with Difabio on a certain level. This trailer was excellent and I am way more excited for TDKR now but calling this "Oscar sweeping" level after a little over 2 minutes shown is a tad ridiculous. This will be great and I can't wait for it, but sweeping the Oscars? I am just not feeling it. I hope I eat crow come award season because I would love to see Nolan get his due. All I am really hoping for is a solid ending to this great series Nolan has given us.

One of the best trailers I have ever seen. A perfect build up, setting of tone, and a chilling montage of images, dialogue, and music. This so far appears to have a real shot at topping the last film.

Bottom line for me--Bane mumbling behind a mask simply can't compete with Ledger's Joker. There was a little part of me that enjoyed The Dark Knight so much for what it was that I didn't really want to see Nolan go back and do another one again if he couldn't make it better. Why repeat yourself if you're not going to improve it? TDK was about as good as a serious and realistically grounded comic book movie could be. Nothing I've seen so far has convinced me that this will be able to get out of the shadow of The Dark Knight, and my expectations are being kept in check. However, I give Nolan enough credit that I don't think he'd tackle this project if he didn't have a creative reason to do so. If he has a good story to tell, I will enjoy watching it.
