I think both TDKR theatrical trailers lacked a really cool Bane moment. Something that shows (not tells) us that he's really, really dangerous. The shot of him holding Batman's mask is good, but I wanted something that emphasized his physical superiority over Batman. Hardy ain't that big, so in these trailers it comes down to his mask and voice and fighting ability to convey a sense of presence. Didn't quite accomplish that. I guess I just wanted better chosen shots of Batman and Bane fighting. Batman should really get his ass kicked. I mean, DESTROYED. Didn't get that. Well, being a forum-goer, I do know that Batman probably does get wrecked, but does the average non-diehard movie-goer get that? I dunno.
The teaser from way back did a lot better in this regard. Remember when it leaked and we got to see the back of Bane's lumbering figure approach the exhausted Batman? Need more of that. Not him blowing ____ up, which is something Joker did a lot of. It's nothing new, just an order of magnitude greater in scale, perhaps.
