Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I also find it amusing that Batman is skilled enough to maneuver the pod in this very advanced and flashy way, yet he can't swerve around The Joker

I always got the impression Batman did that on purpose, so Gordon could make the jump on Joker.

Batman lies on the ground pretending to be unconscious - nothing about that Batpod flip suggests that Batman should be knocked out :dunno

Yep that entire scene was bait to the Joker. Plus running over the Joker would've broken his "no kill" policy. :D

I've considered that before, and I suppose it is possible. As far as I know, it's always been uncertain if Batman was aware of Gordon faking his death to get the jump on Joker or not. Considering Bruce was in the process of turning himself in to the police earlier that same day, I've always had the impression that he was no more aware of what Gordon was up to than Dent was.

Best part about that was that the Joker was a step ahead of them - he wanted to be caught :lol

You're right that it's not fully explained, but I think there's enough hints there for me to believe Batman and Gordon were in on it. I always prefer not being spoonfed what's going on, so I like that it's not 'fully' explained to the audience.

Bruce was considering turning himself in, but the moment Dent pretends to be Batman, Bruce immediately realises what Dent is trying to do. Dent knows that Joker is going to try to ambush him while he's been transported - and he knows that Batman will assume the same thing, so it'll give Batman a shot at capturing the Joker.

Hi honey, hi son, look...i'm alive, how were the past few days for both of you, good. :lol

I always get a good laugh when he sarcastically throws his knife away and puts his hands up. :lol

That and his little skip exiting the hospital in nurse outfit. :lol

I sure hope you're not implying that I'm one of those simpleton viewers who needs to be spoonfed information. :monkey1

Anyway, I agree wholeheartedly with you on this subject. I can not stand it when a film treats it's audience as if they are morons. I enjoy the process of actively following the events in a story and piecing things together as needed.
As far as Batman and Gordon being in on baiting The Joker together, you're likely right. But again, there is just enough doubt for an argument to be made against it if anyone really wanted to. I like it that way.

I still hate the dang cgi Batpod driving up and spinning around off the wall though. :lol

No not implying anything - just a general comment :lol
