What the heck is a 1570 film?:

From my Imax theater:

Drk Knight Rises(Thursday into Friday morning) IMAX Rating: Rated PG-13 Length: 160 min.

Luxury seats. Specifically ordered rows by letter and number, like row H seat 17. Leather reclining seats, two large seat cup holders and spinal support with the bet mid level eye view of the film.

And a tray to set you food on. It's beautiful. Brings a tear to my eye. I can walk in right after the start time and my seats will be there waiting for me.

Wow, just called an actual IMAX theater near one of my relatives, and they aren't having the marathon in IMAX, only TDKR. Looks like it's lie way or the highway.

That being said, I did just call the one in Pittsburgh, and they said that they're waiting to hear back from corporate. Here's hoping.

So I gave them a call because it should really say 1570 for all showings and not just for the Friday.

It's a one screen Imax theater only.

The person I spoke with confirmed this and said all showings are 1570 but she didn't know why it said 1570 just for the friday show.

I hope she's right because my midnight show will be at this Imax.

I saw Prometheus at a lieMax, and it was good as well. LieMAX's are great for non IMAX filmed movies. Because the picture takes up the full screen, and you get the chairs and sound from IMAX.

I can dig LIE MAX for that.

Thanks for those, after doing some searching around the site, looks like the theater I go to "upgraded" to digital.


Oh well, it's still a ____ing huge screen. Same size as the original IMAX screens. Good enough for someone from Idaho to be amazed.
