The Dead Variants

As a completist of the Dead line, I have to ask, what is up with all of the variants? One is OK, but now we are getting two and three variants of the same zombies. This line was special before when we got just a few zombies a year, but now we are getting huge amounts, but of the same zombies. Please stop releasing so many variants. Too many variants have killed many mass market lines before and will kill a specility line such as this even quicker.

This man speaks the truth. Patient Zero was my first Sideshow Figure and I will always love this line, but come on, enough with the variants already.

I have to agree, to many variants. We need new figures not endless rehashes.
Yes some people are and will buy the variants but enough is enough.

I got tired of the variants pretty quickly, and dropped the idea of being a "variant-completist" with the baby-sitter. The dead was a fun line to get a zombie every now and again, but the variants did kill my enthusiasm. Still looking forward to Mall Santa though, and I have all of the "regular" dead surrounding Shaun and Ed. I hope Sideshow tunes into this advice!

As long as the variants keep selling through Sideshow will keep making them.

I am not strongly apposed to them, because I never buy them, but I do think they are lame.

But I am sure Sideshow makes a killing on this line, no licensing fees and some costumes are reused from previous Sideshow figures and then all the variants.

As long as the line keeps moving forward with new figures, which it seems to be doing, I am happy.

I don't mind the variants, as long as there is more too them like you guys did with the spook sitter.

The thing too is that, if people keep buying them simple color changes, SS gets more $$$ to make new ones. SO it does have a + side.

People have stopped buying them. I think Spook Babysitter and maybe even 805 will come back to bite them. 700 is really high for a FOURTH variant. The 300 on 805 is better. 300 seems to be the magic number on the variants.

Nothing wrong being a complitist. I'm sure you have a "complete" Highlander collection.

If Sideshow insists on making variants they should come with extremely low number like 100-300.

They should keep the number of variants below that range too.

I actually jumped all over the 4th babysitter and I'm not a completist. At least she was somewhat different from the others with her outfit. I agree though, its getting out of hand and 700 piece count for the 4th babysitter seems high.

that maybe true but it does feel like they are taking advantage of there loyal collectors . i aready got rid of all my duplicates and now im thinking of dropping the line after seeing a 4th babysitter announced.Sideshow is losing all credibility and this line is losing it's integrity . shame on Sideshow for laziness and lack of creativity with this line.

Yeah, 'cause lord knows the G.I. Joe character base isn't plagued with variants. How many variations of Storm Shadow's OG outfit are there? Storm Shadow, Storm Shadow in black, battle damaged Storm Shadow, Red Ninja, Red Ninja Leader, Kamakura, Snake Eyes in training outfit......
