These DEAD color variants are out of control!

I'm sure they make Sideshow some money with very little effort, but at what cost to the fans?

It's pissing off the Dead fans. Having variant after variant, multiple variants of the same character, especially in today's economy, is frustrating to us fans and ultimately just waters down the line and turns the fans off.

I have collected this line from the start and have one of them all, consider myself a die-hard fan of The Dead and I've thought about quitting this line because of the variants. And despite assertions to the contrary, changing 805 outfit from dark green to black is not "fun" and only seems like a way to fleece, rather than reward collectors. Please stop the variants. If you must, please return to having an Exclusive with new accessory and a regular version like you did with the Street Preacher.

I have an Idea... put the effort you (SS) have going towards the Variants... and Put it towards finishing the 12" LOTR Fellowship!!!!!!! Please!

The thing is there is NO EFFORT going towards variants. Pick a Power Ranger color and there you go.

I still Love The Dead line though, and will never give it up. Now I know how Amy Winehouse feels.

Except you're sober enough to type. Unless you're hanging your chin over the keyboard and letting the chunks of vomit fall out of your mouth one-by-one to hit the corresponding keys. :p

I can understand the anger about these variants. But all three versions of the babysitter, except the new one, are on wait-list status. After all she was the first mass produced fem zombie. And like its been stated before, Sideshow doesnt have to pay Marvel, Lucas, Fox, or Universal to make these. Whats wrong with Sideshow making some cash off their baby? Despite some paint issues, we go four really cool zombies this year. Whose twisting whos arm to buy all the variants? You have to remember that since SW, Sideshow has grown tremendously. You also have to remember that there are people outside this board that purchase SSC products:monkey3

Just go by the saying. if you don't like it don't buy it.

Also, I was checking those goth sitters w/shirt ebay auctions and the guy lost money. Then again, ther is 700 of those.

If Sidehsow insists on doing this god forsaken variants instead of new figures, why not variants of Patient 0 and the Security Guard then?

Please no. Variants of 0 and 5 are steps in the wrong direction. These variants make the originals less interesting and unique and waters down the line.

Because I wouldn't want to be Sideshow if they did a PZ variant :emperor.

As far as the variants go, after giving it a bit more thought, sure it's annoying and yes, we'd all love new zombies instead of Zombie Wiggles. But nobody's forcing anybody to buy them, they're helping to build an army of the dead and most importantly, it's not like these figures are the same price as the Star Wars line. With the exception, of course, of that little blondie lots of us paid a pretty penny to import.

On a side note, I actually started redressing a few of the variants on my shelf using other 1:6 scale outfits and that did help a bit toward breaking up the monotony.
