I hope that the Joe line does not suffer the same fate that the Dead line is currently enduring.

:horror

That is actually a very good point. I could easily see a Black Cobra Commander or a lighter blue Cobra Commander. Snake Eyes, the o' head swap to the goggles but change nothing else. Hasbro made stupid variants famous afterall.

I have stayed away from variants since the first one was announced, I just think its dumb to have exact zombies; but different color outfits. But again, $$$ speak loudly... if you don't like 3 variants be sure not to buy all 3 of them.

And I don't have all the Highlander figures; Duncan was a sucky character from a sucky show so that's 2 I passed on :lecture

Yup. If SS makes variants and people buy them there is no reason for them not to... kind of a catch 22 if you are completist who doesn't like variants.

It's a good thing most of us who buy The Dead don't give a rat's ass about it. :p

Yeah, 'cause lord knows the G.I. Joe character base isn't plagued with variants. How many variations of Storm Shadow's OG outfit are there? Storm Shadow, Storm Shadow in black, battle damaged Storm Shadow, Red Ninja, Red Ninja Leader, Kamakura, Snake Eyes in training outfit......

This guy must be a Sideshow mole.:rotfl:rotfl

I dont mind 1 or 2 variants.. such as a variant for Sandiego Comicon and another for spooktacular... BUT dont just change the clothes.. Changle the paint on figure itself.. maybe add an accessorie too. dang it.. make people want it..Thats whats so stupid about the Street Prophet.. same figure.. no reason to own both...if you own the variant you already own both.. so you only spend money on 1 figure instead of 2.. very bad marketing..
The babysitters i thought were done very well even thought they got carried away a little.. The figures were each painted differently to go along with the different outfits.. thats great.. so each figure is different.. thats why they look cool side by side.. they are different..
subject 805 however is not done well at all.. I cant even name the variations cuz they are not something worth noting..The spooktacular version could have had tan skin and that would have been awesome..or had the opposite arm damaged or have both arms ok.. cuz its a variant.. how does sideshow not know we hate the green skin.. I mean you can read it on the forums.. we hated that figures paintjob..and they leave it that way. same crummy paintjob we all hate..

If subject 805's paintjob was totally redone like the different paintjob on the babysitter. it would be a great addtion to our collections and look fantastic on the shelves..but as it is.. if all 3 subject805's are on display together.. they would just look like the same figure.. so no reason to own all 3 variants..

Because Highlander 2 & 3 were such Academy Award winners! :p

At least I'm not an admitted wannanbe. I can make informative comments about a subject I'm actually knowledgeable about rather than just spew insignificant forum rhea. Need some toilet paper to wipe your mouth?

As long as the variants keep selling through Sideshow will keep making them.

I am not strongly apposed to them, because I never buy them, but I do think they are lame.

But I am sure Sideshow makes a killing on this line, no licensing fees and some costumes are reused from previous Sideshow figures and then all the variants.

As long as the line keeps moving forward with new figures, which it seems to be doing, I am happy.

Quoted for truth... :lecture:lecture:lecture

I was hoping that the subject 805 spook variant would at least have the paint job closer to the prototype, but still looks too green/brown.

I don't see the problem. With those variants, you'll have a slightly different looking zombie for each room. The same, yet still different. It's brilliant actually!

The living room variant Subject 805: Tactical Containment unit.
The bed room variant Subject 805: Tactical Containment unit.
The dining room variant Subject 805: Tactical Containment unit.

Just imagine the potential the babysitter zombies have! Those variants are fun!

Since I'm trying to run a photo archive, repaint/ costume variants like this are a pain.

If SSC wishes to continue making variations, why not instead alternate costumes? Give 805 Subject 5's costume. Give 57 560's costume...

Exactly... That is something I think people could live with if Sideshow needed to play the Variants Game.

What kind of lame director would have thought a Kurgan-less sequel would have been even remotely successful. :dunno

Hollywood dumbasses. :cuss

I'll never get it though. ALL of the movies, even most of the shows, had cheesy, overacting villians. Kurgan came the closest to being better but, honestly, Clancy was just a bit over the top followed closely by Michael Ironsides. He takes the cake in visuals though. God, the nightmares of planet Zeist and Mario Van Peeples..... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! :google :google :google

Needless to say, The Source sucked harder than Jim Neighbors. :monkey1 :monkey1 :monkey1
