I love this piece too, and it's well worth the $500 to own one. It's huge and full of details.

btw...I also do not wan't to get into an endless dicussion about this derisory topic...so I'll just say this.

Yeah, it's a real shame. Narin spends months engineering, creating and sculpting these beautiful pieces from his own mind...and then it get in the hands of someone who has absolutely no talent at all to create something on their own.

And in the end, it's the _______'s who support and buy these re-casters products that ruin it for everyone else.

So, thanks guys...great way to support the hobby!

Great piece.
I'm ok with recast of unlicensed sculpt, i'm also ok with recast as long as originals are no more available. But never got to a point to buy one for now.

Anyone saying that a recast of an unlicensed product is okay should go say that over at the Hunter's Lair.
Sounds scary...
What happens? They pop out of the screen and strangle you?
Kitties die? You get emailed "bad bad bad bad collector!" until you can't take it anymore and slay your family?
^^

Nope, they just try and persuade you to think your way. And if you don't they make it so your stay there isn't very nice. Yeah, it's not the end of the world, but then again we're on the internet. ____ can't get too real on a message board, right?

A recast is a recast no matter if it's of a licensed piece or not you're still copying someone's work to make a profit. If you support that kind of thing it just show's how much class you have.

More seriously,
i'm more than in for the respect of an artist work, licensed or not.
But i have to be frank, if a piece is out of print and i can get a recast i will definitly consider buying it.
But like i said, it never happened to me yet.

recasting someone's work for profit is obviously wrong...but then again, none of the wonderful custom sculptors here obtained any kind of liscense to sculpt whoever's sculpt and etc...and yet we frown upon people copying other's work...so yah I guess this entire discussion is kind of pointless....

We can go round and round on this topic...all day. So it's Not OK to copy someone elses work to make a profit yet it's OK to sell illegally-use the license's likeness to make a profit? For someone who is so concerned with being a classy collector, you obviously don't have a problem supporting the unlicensed-illegal collectible industry (See ur AVATAR)...as long as you get your grail...right?

I would LOVE to hear what FOX has to say about this topic...or I would love to hear what UNIVERSAL has to say about your "BRUCE" Maquette.

Is stealing illegal drugs from a dealer wrong?

It is morally wrong, but Narin, like the drug dealers have engaded in practives that disqualify and inhibit them from getting the law involved.

Is it against the law if law-breakers are victimized? :stick

It is, and it wont go anywhere. We all have varying opinions and arguing over the internet wont achieve anything but piss people off and maybe even get people infractions depending on how they go about debating such a touchy topic.
