I saw an ad for this the other week and thought it looked fun. Although is this an older movie or a completely new release? I thought both of them were now retired.

It looks awesome , been following this for ages, I can't wait to see it.
I read they both enjoyed filming it so much they definitely want to work together again. They also apparently had to slow the camera footage down because together they were so naturally capable of fighting!.
Awesome stuff if you ask me , can't wait !! :rock:rock

I am so jonesing for this one.... Especially since it involves the Monkey King! Now, where are the figures! (I wish)

I hadn't heard about this one either! Just watched the trailer, and I think it looks pretty good. I may just go see this one in the theater instead of waiting for DVD.

New Line had a booth dedicated to just this film at Wizard World LA complete with actors in costume (not the actors from the movie - just booth bunnies). It looks like it could be very interesting.

I did some more searching last night. That trailer is slightly deceptive. The "lost traveler" is actually a modern day U.S. teenager who is transported to ancient China by a magical staff (the one he's holding in the trailer). Don't get me wrong, that doesn't bother me. The teen actor they chose has been very good in his other roles and I like the twist - good way to get some Eastern viewers who might not have been quick to fill the seats for another "reading kung-fu movie". But, why excise that part from the sites trailer? My main area of contention with the trailer was that the one American actor was protraying his character way too modern. Now, that I know it's intentional and key to the story, it's okay. But, why not full disclosure - isn't that the point of a trailer? I am still going to see this for Li and Chan no matter what though.

the two best martial artists today. the preview looks AWESOME!!!!

I've seen more than two trailers for this movie and if I recall correctly, one of them did show the teenager getting transported back in time.

That's the other trailer I was talking about. It is very similar to the one on the site that pops up when you log on, just the transportation part is removed. That seems like a very big part of the plot, so why eliminate it from the trailer? Reminds me of how the trailers tried to play Man of the Year as a straight comedy, when it was really more of a drama with comedy elements. Only reason I can see for removing the transportation element from the advertising is to draw in more Asian cinema purists. But, why lie to them? It hasn't diminished my want to see this film ... in fact, now that I know he's suppose to be speaking like a modern teenager, I want to see it even more. But, it still seems deceptive.

Just saw the trailer for this today, Can't Wait!!! Anyone else hoping we at least get another Li and a Jackie Chan from HT from this film? I wouldn't mind a line actually the designs on the characters would look awesome in 1/6

It looks good, but I wish the acting and dialogue were done in the actors' native languages. Also, it looks like Jet Li won't have many lines in the film. I bet the actors would feel more comfortable if they didn't have to act in English. Is this another Hollywood production? I'm not sure.

Caught the movie Friday night and loved it! I wish we would get some 1/6 scales out of this one... Lu Yan, The Silent Monk, Bride with White Hair... Whou wouldn't want a Jade Walrod or Moneky King (Jet Li Kicked bootay as Sun Kung)

I only hope the Dragon Ball movie or Avatar movie is this good. This is a Kung-fu fan's dream, not just the fact that it has Jackie and Jet but just the opening itself with all of the famous Kung-fu images and posters.

Not to give anything away but if you are a fan of the Monkey King, Saiyuki, Dragon Ball or Journey to the West you will love this film. It basically retells the major points of the first book of Journey to the West. The interpretation of the Monkey King was perfect and I laughed so loud the lady sitting in front of me turned around to give me a dirty look. They even showcased some of Sun Wukong's best powers.

Needless to say I loved this film and will probably see it again before the summer barrage begins in May with Iron Man. I hope the next film Jackie and Jet do is this good.

I'm not really a kung fu movie fan, but this was a lot of fun with some cool fight scenes and some great visuals. I definitely see a sequel coming.

It was alright. Definitely catered towards kids though. I mean honestly, the first ever collaborative effort from Jet Li and Jackie Chan and we get a kid's movie?

I was disappointed, considering there was a lot of talent on the crew and creative team (I'm talking Yuen Wo Ping and the director of photography from Crouching Tiger).

But it was fun at times and had it's moments. The "rain summoning" was my favorite scene.

I'm dying to see this film. My wife and I couldn't settle on which to see this or Sarah Marshall and end up going to neither. :(

I'm going this weekend if if I hit it up stag.
