That does bug me quite a bit but I love seeing Saruman's death and the Mouth of Sauron too much so I'll always choose the EE.

Saruman's Death is a must and Mouth of Sauron is by far one of the creepiest things put on film.... Both make the EE the preferred cut... yet at the same time some of the other scenes bring down the quality of the film.

Still a great movie either way.

I don't know....

...I mean, this looks pretty cartoony to me:

Dang, if you call that cartoony, AUJ/DOS must be Looney Tunes for you. :rotfl

Naw, on the whole I like the movies, I just think that the Two Towers fell a little short for me. All of those orcs coming at you and you don't even get cut or hurt once seems a little bit far fetched to me. I understand the premise and all but Aragon and Gimli should have been a little bloody at the end. The fact that Legolas could take on a army of orcs and not get a hair out of place, yet he goes hand to hand with one in Desolation of Smaug and gets a nose bleed says a lot for the Two Towers too.

My daughter loves blue butterflies. She was a blue butterfly for Halloween. So the best thing about the movie today was seeing her smile when Bilbo poked his head above the trees. Pure joy and bliss on her face.

Tonight she made a homemade bow and arrow out of sticks and yarn and has been leaping around the house being a she-elf. It's fun for the girls to have an action hero to imitate once in a while.

I think that's very cool. :rock

I hope my kid wants to be Lurtz. :lol

"Kill the halfling!¡

:horror

Sometimes, I wonder why I bother. :lol

I really enjoyed it the first time but loved it more the second. The thing that bothered me the first time didn't really this time. My mom said its one of her favorite Middle-earth movies.

If I had to rank them as of now.

1. FOTR EE
2. ROTK EE
3. TTT EE
4. AUJ EE
5. DOS TE

My mom is the one who really got me interested in Middle-earth. I have her copy of FOTR from when she was in high school, and my Dad's copy of The Hobbit from when he was in high school in my collection.

Yeah, Its 5th though in a great series of movies

I'd rank it a touch ahead of the TE version but the EE adds just a little more stuff that makes it better. We shall see about the EE of this movie next November.

What bugged you the most in DOS?

Things bugged me the much less this time actually I enjoyed a lot of it this time. As far as the first time I could have either had the Bombur bit during the barrels sequence or the Legolas riding barrel sequence. Both might have been a bit much. I didn't care for the Kili comment to Tauriel when he's put in the cage. I admit the ending was more of a departure than I expected and hit me a little wrong.

You referring to how abrupt it came to an end.

Yeah, Legolas standing on their heads crossed the line. :lol
