I believe it took me over a year to get to 1000 posts!

Thank you, thank you, I do most of my post from the intern room or my phone in hospital. It's quiet during the night here and I get bored :(

God I wish I have a similiar job. If I get lucky enough to get a job soon, I'll be busy enough to gain weight.

Hehe, it's not that hard to respond to a post here and there from the phone or comp in your free time, keeps your mind off work :D

Lies! I have watched Grey's Anatomy....interns never have free time! And when they do they are either getting laid in supply closets, complaining to friends about thier resident significant others or doing a voice over narrative about the morals and life lessons learned during that days events in the hospital!

Hahaha! This is aussie mate, we slack off here! :D Nah there's always something to do but also alot of free time in between. You have to be there though in case something happens. We have a playstation, xbox and plasma in the intern lounge and a really comfy sofa.

Also less drama more work... :(
Oh and surgeons aren't all that good looking andd don't really talk that much to patients, they sorta like to keep things short and sweet to increase their efficiency as they are freaking bz as it is... you don't see any doe eyed surgeons going on stealing spree of myocardium and such :p

Dammit!! What you do for a living? Job title? Besides the clue that you work in the hospital? Tell me you don't give oldie spong bath or wipe their ____!!! Free sex from mentally challenged people?

Is Australia that easy living? Stingy jellyfish and killer shark at the beach. Poisonous snakes and killer crocodile in the country side? Dry desert for most of the country side? Somehow I pictured ramphant spawning rabbits and dingo(wild dogs) trying to steal your food while you're asleep in the desert?
playstation, xbox and plasma Oh! My! :naughty

Nah the nurses and sometimes physio's do the baths, I did help out during my rural rotation when the staffing was low tho'. I'm a doctor but fresh out last year. Man, it's so much better here than in Singapore where I hail from. My medfriends over there complain that they are swamped and work really hard. In Sydney, all the shops close at 5... :( That part sucks.

So you do hands on training at Singapore? Like where you do your classes? From start to finish? and How long? I heard like 7-9 yrs here in the U.S. Why not do it all in Australia? Save $$$ that way?

6 years over here for undergrad and 4 years for grad. It's 4 years pre-med in US and another 4-5 for med school. I did do all my med here in Australia and yeah saving $$ was a big factor in that decision combined with the proximity to home.

So a total of 10 for you? 6yrs pre-med in Australia and 4 in Singapore?

Got my undergrad with honors but doubt I can handle 9 or so years. How do they do the grading thing anyway? Getting kicked out after 4 or 7 years is tough and finding a position?

Yeah, took some time off to start my business which fully funds my education but pretty much that's what it added up to. So glad its over phew! :p
I do know a few who couldn't cut it and got kicked out or left, and I have some friends who were held back a year tho', first 3 years of theory was tough with an attrition rate of about 20%, the last 3 were cake because it was clinicals (more on the practical side). Internship is guranteed and offered to everyone after they graduate in Sydney (unlike in other places like Melbourne.)

I would LOVE a Mr. Fixit...
