galactiboy said:I went to the Project 1/6 shop in Tokyo (Medicom's store) and I was dumbstruck how expensive the figures were. But down the street at another shop they were more reasonable.
And an interesting note... for some reason figures sold in Japan that were available in the states (like Kaiyodo's Fist of the North Star) were actually $5-$10 more in Japan. I could never figure that one out?!?

galactiboy said:Trust me Nash... I have a lot of Japanese import figures... probably around 200 and I've been to Japan. I'm well aware of what they cost. However, when you compare Medicom releases to other companies figures (Sideshow, Hot Toys, Takara, DiD) they always come out a bit on the high side. And a basic clone at $150 is a prime example.
Now if they were the sole owner of 1/6 SW rights it might be different. But, Sideshow will also make a Clone and when they do it'll be at least $60 cheaper.

decadentdave said:I can see Sideshow pricing these at about $70-$75 and saying that Clones are more expensive to produce because of the materials construction. They will likely have to vac-form all of the armor and helmets so that would be their justification for the higher-than-usual pricing and because they know these are going to sell.
