Kind of my thought. I mean I bought the RAH Clone but for $30 bucks more I'm getting two other figures from SS. Don't know about you but that seems like a lot better deal to me.
Better deal? Yes. Good deal? Far from it.

I went to the Project 1/6 shop in Tokyo (Medicom's store) and I was dumbstruck how expensive the figures were. But down the street at another shop they were more reasonable.

And an interesting note... for some reason figures sold in Japan that were available in the states (like Kaiyodo's Fist of the North Star) were actually $5-$10 more in Japan. I could never figure that one out?!?

I'd guess they're more because the Japanese collectors are willing to pay more. Honestly just a guess, that's why stuff goes up in price alot, people are willing to pay. That's how scalpers stay in buisness.

It's a good deal as well. I mean 3 for 1 basically when compairing to the Medicom figure. I'm getting all 4 but the deal from SS is a much better deal.

I passed because i'm not a huge clone freak and it's too bad SS didnt offer more of a discount. This figure will be 100$ on ebay in 4-6 mos. and i'll own one then.. cause even at 150$ it's gonna be an awesome figure if medicom's stormtrooper is any indication.

I bet MOST people will not pass on the blackhole trooper and boba fett that is comin though no matter what they cost:cool:

(Those are what i'm waiting for):maul

I passed on the Medicom Clonetrooper. It's a good figure, but I'm going to wait and see what Sideshow has in store for us Clone-wise. I have a feeling it's going to be awesome.

Trust me Nash... I have a lot of Japanese import figures... probably around 200 and I've been to Japan.:D I'm well aware of what they cost. However, when you compare Medicom releases to other companies figures (Sideshow, Hot Toys, Takara, DiD) they always come out a bit on the high side. And a basic clone at $150 is a prime example.

Now if they were the sole owner of 1/6 SW rights it might be different. But, Sideshow will also make a Clone and when they do it'll be at least $60 cheaper.

If we have to pay $90 for Sideshow's clones I'm going to be PISSED. That'd be completely unreasonable.

I can see Sideshow pricing these at about $70-$75 and saying that Clones are more expensive to produce because of the materials construction. They will likely have to vac-form all of the armor and helmets so that would be their justification for the higher-than-usual pricing and because they know these are going to sell.

I am hoping that the are more reasonable since they can reuse the armor for multiple figures... shocktroopers, tactical ops. Same thing with different Stormies. I'm sure the initial costs will be higher, but if it can be spread out to multiple figures it might not be too bad.

I like the RAH Clone, but it's way too expensive. I'll go with Sideshow because I know it'll be great and a lower price. And it'll probably have more accessories.

The Sideshow Exclusive Commander Cody better come with Obi-Wan's lightsaber hilt, that's all I gotta say.

Don't count on it. They were gonna give Anakin Dooku's saber, but the exclusive will be something no other character (figure) had before it (or will after unless modified).

My main problem with the Medicom Clone is the same problem I have with just about everything that company produces. From their Lego rip-offs and their Super Deformed pieces to their RAH -- there's just something that SCREAMS Pokemon about them.

And I've now come to the conclusion that there's something about the Medicom Nutswingers that remind me too much of the Pokemon fans.

You are probably right about the price, but God I hope not. :emperor
