even w/ the points, the overage on shipping offsets the points!

sucks bbts started charging tax in fl... started goin thru timewalker as he does a great job and has good prices.

I just got a $20 code but it came on a package from Sideshow. SSAlex said they weren't going to do the monthly codes anymore but will still do $20 codes and attach them randomly to packages sent from Sideshow. I think I've had 4-5 boxes delivered since this started in July and have only received one coupon. $20 doesn't seem like much but it's added up over the years. Unless I can use reward points or it's an exclusive available only to Sideshow, then I'm looking elsewhere for figures.

Timewalker's prices are usually better than Sideshow's--even with a $20 coupon. They're definitely one of the places I'll start using regularly.

yup... and they ship more protected too... plus have free shipping at a point. overall better place in my opinion!

thing that put me over the top was the SS deadpool... they were charging $20+ to ship to fl. but i sent one to a guy up north and it ran me about $11. anyone that picked it up knows its a fairly small box and not a ton of weight. for them to milk you another $10 on the figure w/ shipping just drove me to start looking elsewhere. glad i did as so many other good options out there.

Mentioning points, I've got enough SSC points to buy a HT figure. Not sure what I should be picking up with it, though. I'll probably just accumulate more points and how far it'll take me.

13th Warrior is a film I stop and watch every time I see that it's on. That main guy was ****ing Thor come to life back then. Wish he would have been young enough to play him when Marvel started making their movies. Speaking of Marvel movies, I started watching Civil War last night. I didn't finish it because we started it way too late and I didn't realize it was so long--think I have about another 45-60 minutes left to watch so I'll finish it tonight. There are a couple nitpick problems I have so far but overall it's SO much better than BvS. Marvel does a fantastic job in their films getting their characters right. Civil War has made me actually look forward to a Black Panther film. The actor and the costume are ****ing perfect.

i never saw it... fell into the trap of listening to the neg buzz back in the day and gave it a pass... i like banderas, but heard lots saying it was bad. heard you guys praising it then saw this blurb which now has given me the itch to watch! lol

"WHY IT’S GREAT:

I hated THE 13TH WARRIOR the first time I saw it. I was bored, mostly, and waiting for something different than what I got. When the credits began to roll I felt like McTiernan had dropped the ball, which was no small thing when you consider that he was (and is) my all-time favorite director. I simply could not get past it and I left the theater vowing that I never needed to see the film again.

Then, it hit video, back when I bought anything and everything, so I picked it up and gave it another shot. It was somewhat better since I’d gotten over the initial disappointment, but nothing to forgive what I saw as a failure. Years passed and at some point or another I popped the disc in on a whim and, for whatever reason, I felt like I was seeing a new movie. When it was over after that third viewing I realized that I not only liked it more, but I kind of loved it. How the hell does that happen?

It’s a rare thing, but does happen. Some movies simply age better than others. You miss things. You overlook things. Your expectations were unrealistic or misguided. Your mental state wasn’t what it is now. Whatever. For THE 13TH WARRIOR, I think what I overlooked, more than anything, was the true care and detail that went into making it such a cool *****ing movie."

I'm not crazy over Marvel but Civil War trumps BvS in very sense of the word, it's not even funny. Both movies feature really similar plots but one had the grace of an eagle soaring trough the sky while the other of a newborn horse. On skates.

I never understood why that movie flopped. It was great

Me either. That dude with the giant hound was indeed Thor. Such a badass movie, IMO. It had such a creep factor as well as realistic spin on Beowulf and the Viking tales. I'm going to have to pop that movie in this weekend and watch it again.

It really is crazy how far apart the films are in terms of quality. Marvel films are hit and miss for me but I probably enjoy them more just because I don't have any expectations for them like I do DC films. That being said, Marvel definitely knows their characters and nails what makes them those characters for the majority of them. There have been plenty of Marvel plot lines I haven't liked but at least they stay true to what makes their characters tick. DC is abandoning their characters for visual spectacle. I don't often say, "Why would he/she do that?" in a Marvel film, but I constantly thought that throughout Man of Steel, BvS, and Suicide Squad. Because I love DC, their poor treatment of the characters taints my entire opinion of their films--especially when I watch the animated shows and know they can do it right but they choose not to.

another movie I liked a lot was Brotherhood of the wolf. that movie was great too. (kinda similar)

This ****ing thing is $265.

wow!!

better idea, take that abortion and put it back to being the batman figure and make it available to the masses that are still trying to get one.

So it's not even a deleted scene?

That thing is going to warm warehouse shelves for years, although I know there's quite a few pudding brains excited for it.

He doesn't wear it ever. It's just something made up by Hot Toys. They tagged it as a Hot Toys Exclusive figure so I'm sure it'll sell out by everyone thinking they'll flip it for $400 later. Hot Toys makes this **** and I can't get a General Zod or BR Catwoman. ****ers.
