Sat down to watch Suicide Squad with my wife last night. I took away her phone so she would have to pay attention to the film and to teach her a lesson. 30 minutes into it she said she didn't want to watch it anymore. An hour into it she told me she was sorry that she bought it for me--I told her she wasn't even halfway through the movie yet. My wife liked about 20% of what Harley said in the film and liked how Margot Robbie looked, but she either hated or disliked everything else. I made her watch the animated Assault on Arkham movie afterward, and she turned to me about halfway through it and said, "Why didn't they just ****ing copy this one?".

For me, the extended cut was worse than the theatrical cut. The editing was still all over the place, the music still didn't make sense, the characters were still ****, and the jokes fell even flatter during the second viewing. The additional Letoker scenes just reinforced how stupid his portrayal of the Joker was and ended up pissing me off even more. The Honest Trailer for Suicide Squad is still 1000x more entertaining and a fraction of the run time.

Got a little more done on my tattoo. Wish I could have gotten more done but the detail in the robot took longer than expected. Going back at the end of the month to hopefully get Lois and the Fortress of Solitude done.

Thanks! It's definitely a lot of work. The guy doing it all gets some crazy stuff done. That robot has an unreal amount of detail and color in it. He really does a good job getting a lot of detail into small pieces. Kelex should have been double or triple the size but he was able to do it smaller.

Yeah the amount of detail he got into his hands and arms is nuts for being so small! Pretty impressive!

This is just plain domestic abuse

My wife watched it 2-3 times and she tried to make herself like it, mainly since she's a Harley fan and a Leto fan... but she thought it was pretty bad too.

Suicide Squad can go to hell. It's one of those movies that talks down to you, like an adult dangling keys in front of a toddler to keep him company. To think that the director yelled "F Marvel" at the premier- this movie isn't half as good as the worst MCU movie, and I'm saying this as a DC fanboy!

Well, at least the Schumacher films were entertaining. I could easily watch them and laugh at how intentionally campy they are. Heck, Schumacher even formally apologized for them, let's see Zack Snyder apologize for BvS.

They at least were what they were and didn't try to be anything else. After two dark Batfilms, they wanted a lighter goofier take which was reminiscent of the TV show.

It feels like it to me that Sewer Squid borrowed the "world" from the Schumacher films.

Not to mention the battle with Gozer was so out of place.

Mike Springer at Skinsations in Ark City. I went to high school with him so I've known him awhile. He's always been an amazing artist and ended up being able to use his skill doing amazing tattoos.
