I still haven't seen Suicide Squad, and I really don't have any need too. Man, the DC movie universe has got me depressed. How can a company do a fair to good job on most of their animated features, but suck so badly on their live action stuff. BvS should have broken a billion dollars without breaking a sweat. It takes a special kind of director to **** up the meeting and fight of the two most popular super-heroes ever. Joker is awful.
Suicide Squad is tough to sit through if you are a DC fan. I watched it for free at a screening and was mad I was there. I watched the extended cut hoping there would be something that would make me hate it less, and I barely made it through it. My wife left the room about 45 minutes into it because she just couldn't take it anymore. In fact, the only comic book movies she hasn't made it completely through are BvS and Suicide Squad--and she's sat through every comic book movie known to man with me.
They have just taken the DC film universe in a bad direction and have refused to deviate from that course. BvS absolutely should have destroyed the billion dollar mark. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman on the big screen for the first time in a live action film should have been the comic book film of the decade--until Justice League. Domestically, BvS made less than Guardians of the Galaxy and made only 100 million more worldwide. WTF? That's insane that a group of characters barely anyone knows (outside of hardcore comic fans) can stand toe-to-toe with the Trinity.
