so finally got around to doing some finish work on my full size guardians orb... ran the print, did a ton of sanding, finishing, and priming... here's the base coat drying getting ready for the silver metallic finish:

it wasn't that bad, the 3d print files already existed on thingiverse... i just took the files and modified them a bit as they are in 2 halves. so merged them into 1 file and ran the print... think it took about 14 hours or so to run... no big deal tho as it runs on its own. finish work wasn't too bad as sanding the outer surface smooth was pretty easy w/ some 150 grit sandpaper... just took a while to get it all smooth.

i'll use some testors metallic silver enamel on a sponge and apply the silver to the outer surface to finish it off. should look straight out of the movie when done.

So...I was unaware of a con in Chicago this weekend that Stan Lee will be at. So pissed that I have plans I can't break, otherwise I would be making the trek.

So...I was unaware of a con in Chicago this weekend that Stan Lee will be at. So pissed that I have plans I can't break, otherwise I would be making the trek.

I've seen him a few times so now I don't stop by his booth at conventions anymore, but if you've never seen him then you better do it soon. He's dropping a lot of conventions from his schedule now. I think the Dallas convention I went to last month was his last one there ever. I wouldn't be surprised if he hits a couple big ones in the next year then stops going to them completely.

Wow Pro, that looks awesome! Once you get the silver on there it will look really sharp.

Speaking of 1:1 replicas, did anybody see the Hot toys Baby Groot? Man, this is an instant preorder for me. He looks terrific. Hopefully he won't be too expensive.
