I don't care if they are rethinking their strategy and making the characters more true to their comic book counterparts, there's no redemption for that ****, so, I say, when the time comes, hand Snyder the reins and let him cut loose; let their first meeting be their last, as Batfleck rages and beats his ghetto clown *** to death.

Let it be a celebration of Blood and Fanta, as Harley weeps in the corner knowing her ICP wannabe boyfriend is choking on his own teeth.

I actually didn't mind Leto that much. Chalk it up to expectations so low that there was nowhere to go but up. I just really hate his jugalo appearance. All those ironic tattoos make him look like he's trying too hard.

See, I could've dealt with that, as much as I hated it, but then, I saw the movie, and everything about him was trying too hard. The scene that comes to my mind is him in the midst of all of the knives pining after Harley, and then he just starts laughing for no other reason than "because The Joker should laugh," and that sums up every bit of his character for me. I legitimately just want to interview Leto and ask whether he legitimately thought, in character, that this is what The Joker would be if he took himself seriously, or if it's meant to be a slightly ironic depiction of a super villain so insecure in his own sense of identity that every fiber of his being is devoted to convincing himself that he is what he wants everyone to believe he is.

All of those tattoos, to me, read like this is The Joker by way of Stuart Smalley. He looks at himself in the mirror every day, reads his tattoos, and proceeds with his words of daily affirmation. "I'm bad enough, I'm damaged enough, and doggone it, people fear me." In that regard, I would actually kind of respect them for doing something creative and making a super villain so hateable that he even hates himself, but then I think of all the douchebros dressing up as that dumpster fire for Halloween and I remember that this is Jared Leto we're talking about and it reminds me that, no, they just think this is what a "cool" Joker looks like.
