I 100% agree with getting rid of the Frank Miller influence in the films. It's an end of the road story that has no place in the films when they're introducing the characters. As much as I enjoy the story for what it is, I feel that it's completely overrated. Fanboys love it because Batman is a hard *** and gets to beat up Superman. Now I have to read comics and watch movies that perpetuate the ridiculous idea that Superman is such a complete ***** that Batman can beat him because he's wicked smaht and has cool toys. **** that ********.
Oh no, I love the book- but it IS overrated. I think we've had enough of the amount of TDKR homages already that I'm really hoping for a costume overhaul in the next solo Bat film. Remember, even Nolan's Dark Knight Rises was a TDKR homage and it's getting old.
Funnily enough, I think the best TDKR homage came from an episode of Batman the Brave and the Bold, in an episode where Supes gets poisoned by red Kryptonite. Great stuff, even does the "Martha" scene properly.
