Suicide Squad made over $745 million worldwide, all said and done. Do the math and they made more than double their investment easily, despite it receiving scathing reviews and being hailed by many as one of the worst films ever made.

To be honest they did something smart with Suicide Squad - not in spirit-of-good-filmmaking sense, but in a cold-hearted, demographic-pandering business sense: it's a film tailor-made for young, ADHD-addled generation z audiences who are used to consuming all of their media three minutes at a time via YouTube, Snapchat, etc - a stream of unconnected "moments" and "happenings", complete with glossy title cards and stat sheets for each character straight out of a videogame, and a pulsating, obnoxious soundtrack. It's a film you can check out of every few minutes in order to fire off some more WhatsApp messages and lose absolutely nothing by doing so.

Can this post be nominated as one of the posts of the year!? :clap *standing ovation*

I'd rep you if I had anymore reps left to give.

WB just ****ing blows my mind with their future film decisions. Possible Harley Quinn films planned--Suicide Squad 2, Gotham Sirens, Joker and Harley film, and now another one that Margot Robbie mentioned in a recent interview. Who know if any of these will actually be made, but you can see where their heads are at. They may as well just make a Harley Quinn film division with a logo that's just a big middle finger.

At first glance Robbie talking about another Harley Quinn movie does make me scratch my head, and say "Really?! WTF?!". However, looking at her comments makes me think there's probably a lot going on behind the scenes, and that her next Harley movie might be something that's totally different from what came before.

“It’s hard to talk about it because this stuff is under lock and key, but I’ve been working on a separate spin-off Harley thing for a while now,” the actress revealed. “It’s a totally separate one. There’s a lot going on right now and honestly I don’t think anyone knows what’s going to be the next thing to happen, but I think everyone is keen to get Harley back on screen, so everyone is working on lots of different versions of what that could be.”

Basically what I think is going to happen is things that have worked like Wonder Woman, or Robbie's Harley Quinn will continue on, but they'll just largely ignore the fact that these characters were part of a bigger universe, and focus on their solo adventures. Everything else, apart from Aquaman since that movie is in the can, I think will be fully rebooted, or shelved for a few years before they try again. The WB execs are incompetent, but I have a hard time believing they'd be so incompetent to look at their JL movie that will be lucky to make 700 million world wide, and not think major changes need to made going forward.

Found a stack of my Neal Adams Batman reprints today and it really bummes me out that there are no 1/6 figure of it. :(

With all the Batman figures that have been made, you'd think that someone would make a comic artist line. Then again, I'm still surprised we can't get 1/6 animated figures so what do I know? :lol

Do you think it's a licencing thing or it's a niche market? It looks like the comic Bats are only done by Medicom and SS, I'm not really a fan of most of the Batmen by Medicom, and that Sideshow figure doesn't appeal to me.

Looks like I may get my Ghostbusters today instead of tomorrow! :panic:

Hot damn, that's awesome! I remember the day I broke the news of the announcement to you. I think you needed air. :lol

I'm not a big fan of the Medicom Batman figures either. Maybe it's just a niche market that companies don't think will be worth their time. Sideshow tried to do an Adams Batman head with one of their figures, but it's still not right.

how long they gonna sit in the box?? :lol

I may actually break this box open today. :lol I don't think I'll have time to really mess around with them, but I'm dying to check them out. Meanwhile, my Fight Club set is still unopened and sitting in my garage.

HAHAA i was gonna say it better not be keeping the chain goin with the blitzway figures! i finally gave up on mine and sold that 2 pack we bought... still have the red coat durden sittin in the "pile to open"! :lol

Ghostbusters out for delivery!

Today is my 11th anniversary and 1 year for marriage. We went to dinner Saturday... we need a new restaurant. It's been **** the last two times while the times before that it was great.

At least you got a great deal on the 2-pack instead of getting it for retail. Makes selling it a bit easier. I'm determined to get my figures out of the boxes and set up before the end of the year. Well, I say determined, but I'm going to at least make a valiant effort. :lol

on the anniversary! Too bad about the restaurant. We barely go out to eat around here anymore because all the restaurants have pissed me off at some point.

We've been searching around for another one the last few days. It's really hard to find a place that's reliable. I think it had a lot to do with it being overly busy there. The first two times we were pretty much alone early in the afternoon on a weekday.

I've always though this would be a cool idea. Then it just hit me: fans of different artists would riot. People would be begging for any and every artistic rendering of a character and would not be satisfied with any of them. I'd imagine creating these would create more complaining than anything. lol

yeah me 2... i've got SOOO much sitting in boxes that i'm going to pull it all out as it's utterly ******** to spend the dough on this like i do and have it sitting in a pile!! :slap

i bought some new display shelves and i'm setting up my office / work area. i've given up on detolfs. the longer i use them, the more i dislike them. they detract so much from seeing things. the reflective nature of all that glass really takes away from seeing things. i went to some open glass display shelves. i figured it had the most open look to see everything best. and basically detolfs are utterly useless when it comes to keeping dust off stuff unless you go thru all sorts of stupid methods of taping them up and all that nonsense... there's just as much dust inside the detolf as the dresser sitting next to it. unless you have kids or animals, i really don't see the need to close them off.
