Went to Amok Time today. Finally found a Sallah!

Stopped by the Wal-Mart. Got an extra Crystal Skull Indy so the RPG one can have a hat. And got my son the rest of the Adventure Heroes with Mutt/ Irina and Indy/ Ugha. Why don't the Crystal Skull Indys in Adventure Heroes have grey hair?

The Canadian dollar went to $100.02 to the US... :D
Time to go across the border and stock up on some Indy stuff. Hope they finally put the 12" out.

Take this with a pinch of salt, as its less than a rumour, but I've been translating pages from a few Japanese sites (ie in google or babelfish) to try and find more details about the Takara Indy; and one of them, www.mamegyorai.co.jp lists all the six 12" Hasbro Indiana Jones figures we know about plus a seventh, 'Indiana Jones with Sword' - could be a TOD version or could just be mistranslated.

Is Dovchenko one of the 6 we know about? They also list him. Anyway, the "Indy with sword" one is from Crystal Skull, according to that web site.

I finally found a Sallah figure today -- the first I've seen in half a dozen stores. Still haven't seen the "Indy and Horse" set.

Saw another variation for the KotCS jacket Indy today. This one has a different tray and has Indy positioned higher up in the bubble with the skull partly behind the yellow Ticket to adventure tag.

Picked up a couple of the deluxe figures today...the two "Temple trap" ones...but no new basic figures to be found up here at all.

Opened up the KOTCS Indy...pretty cool basic figure...

Picked up the DK Ultimate Guide...really nice. Feature text by SW author James Lucerno and some great cutaway illustrations of some of the locations from all of the films by the team that did the terrific SW illustrated books. It includes a short, unspoilerish section on KOTCS...no real plot point revealed, just a few character pictures I hadn't seen before.

Really lookin' forward to Wednesday night and finally getting to visit the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for myself!

The giant hat in that photo makes me think of the old Kenner 12" Indy, which was pretty cool except for the atrocious hat.

I just have my Crystal Skull Indy holding his hat (his hand and the hat are perfectly shaped for that). That way you don't notice that it's oversized and you can see his gray hair, distinguishing him from the Raiders Indy. There are a few issues here and there, as you might expect with mass-market toys like these, but I really think Hasbro outdid themselves overall. I love how they layered the clothes on Indy, for example, so it look like he's actually wearing pants or a jacket.

The KotCS Indy is the best 1:18 likeness they've gotten to Ford. Especially if you can find one without weird eyes.

All the Raiders INDYs look nothing like Ford...at least KotCS is close enough.

I think the SoCairo Indy is the best likeness for the Hasbro figs, followed by the horse set and the KotCS Indy.

My KOTCS novelization, Graphic Novel, and The Making Of book all arrived today.

I'm not even going to bother opening up the box until Thursday.

The eyes are really the weak point of these figures, which is why I'm reluctant to buy any of them online. Even the "good" ones that I found were a little off. I fixed them a bit with the careful aid of a sharpie.

I want a horse Indy but every time I find him all the ones got bad eyes!!! :monkey4

I've only seen one. Indy had good eyes, but the packaging was a bit damaged and I want to keep this one Mint. I had to go through about 10 Map Room Indys at various stores before I found one with good paint and undamaged packaging.

Today at a local "IndyFest" I won a MASSIVE auctioned off KOTCS poster, for 50 bucks. It is a really large, double sided representation of the second Drew Struzan poster, and I believe it is a three sheet, made of a very thin vinyl.

Sure, I probably overpaid, and I have no room for it, but it is a cool collector's item, and I feel like it might be more valuable than paying 20 plus shipping for a standard 1 sheet poster.

No. That seems very reasonable. I've seen bus shelters sell for much more than that, the last Indy one on ebay sold for $114 before shipping, plus they tend to be much rarer than the regular posters. Seeing the gorgeous Struzan art work on a bigger scale is quite nice, you can see all the color blending and such better. Congrats, it's a classy piece. :rock
