Or use a sem riper to carefully unstich the jacket and remove it... Then fix the cuff and reattach it with microstiching at seems that wouldn't be noticeable...

I agree to an extent. It's certainly reasonable to expect a statue like this not to disintegrate after a couple of years.

But to my knowledge, Sideshow has never really had a "warranty" on their products, in the sense of a clearly defined period during which they will repair or replace defects. Instead, it seems like they handle everything on a case-by-case basis. And yes, the customer service people are usually very helpful if you have a problem relatively soon after a purchase (while they still have extras).

But what happens if after two or three years the lights in one of your statues fails, your paint starts to flake off, or your Indy Jacket crumbles to dust? My guess is they will tell you that they can't help you. Of course it might be different if this really turns out to be a problem will all of these statues. They may be forced to offer some sort of accommodation.

I was able to return my Sabertooth LSB when the paint started flaking off of it for a full refund and I had it for a couple years.

Just checked my Indy PF and the cuffs are stiff but it is still in perfect shape....knock on wood.

EDIT: The sleeve was stuck to the paint and left what looked like a small chip to the paint on the hand like was mentioned earlier.

I just sent Sideshow an e-mail referencing this thread and a picture of my jacket starting to flake apart.

I started a thread over at Statue Forum to get the word out to see if there are more issues out there and to have people contact Sideshow then as well.

That's good, although I think that falls under the "case by case" handling I was talking about before. Has Sideshow ever done anything like a mass recall of a product?

Yeah, I just wanted to relay that they were willing to work outside of the normal returns window with a defective product before and hopefully again. Although a return for a refund wouldn't make me happy on this piece.

no chips or cracking yet but mine have hardened at the cuffs too :(

a credit to those that can provide proof of purchase should be given at the very least. This will heavily bring down the value should I decide to sell it with deteriorating cuffs.

The sad part is that this probably would have been avoided if they would have just put a stitch in the cuff instead of gluing it.

Has it been mentioned, or does anyone know if the cuffs where hard when they shipped, or is the stiffness directly linked to the eventual deterioration?

It's a good question, and I can't recall with 100% certainty. But I'm almost positive mine were original stiff like they are now. Whether that inevitably leads to complete deterioration I can't say.

After reading the last few pages of this thread, I decided to get my Indy out of storage, he's been there since we moved in December. I checked both cuffs, and they are surprisingly pliable, no hardness in either one. There does seem to be some minor yellowing beneath the cuff, and a small wear mark, but that's it so far. The glue on the holster, however, is another story. It has completely crystalized and fallen appart. I put some gorilla glue on it, and a very small art clamp I have to try and repair it.

Just got my Indy pf today and it has the cuff deterioration too. I hope sideshow comes up with a solution for this.

i had another look at mine, the left cuff is actually really bad, the rest of the jacket looks ok

Finally got a response...no replacements left so they recommended sealing the jacket before it falls apart any further and offered me a whopping $20 discount on any pending order I have. BS offer...makes me want to cancel my other orders if that is the best they can do.
