Who would want Indy without the hat? That's like Superman without the S.

This gets my vote as one of the more useless exclusives I've seen (I won't even take it out of the box), but I suppose it does highlight the excellent facial sculpt a little better. Still, what's Indy without his hat, if you going for an iconic/classic representation of the character?

I'm seriously considering not getting an exclusive and just getting the regular-- the hatless sculpt is most definitely a let-down.

I'm sure it is the same sculpt, just without the hat, but I do agree, it doesn't look as good, which just goes to show what paint apps can do. His eyebrows are too dark for one thing, and it just doesn't look as much like Ford as the version with the hat.

With minor modifications, Sideshow could do an SDCC exclusive Temple of Doom version.

I guess this makes it easier for those who really need to make a retailer discounted purchase for budget reasons--you won't be missing anything mandatory.

Maybe they gave you Hatless Indy because we were all praising the sculpt so much, they decided to not even change the expression...

Well at least this way no one will be complaining that they missed out on the exclusive.

I suppose you could always use that second head as a generic Harrison bust and make a base for it.

Sideshow said the ex extra head is for all the people who cried about the Han PF. They said they can just take a hammer and knock the old one off then with the new head and some glue you are set.

Meh, really disappointing exclusive. I was REALLY hoping for that interchangeble right hand holding revolver. It would look great if you could display with the option of NOT holding the idol.

Overall the figure looks GREAT, but I don't care about getting the exclusive or not now. I'll just go for the regular at a savings through a retailer.

I think the paint apps on this head aren't showing Trev's sculpt to the fullest it can be... which of course brings up worries about the production pieces and production paint jobs!!!

...the eyes and eyebrows look weird!

I'm going to stop looking at these pictures so that I don't feel let down in case of a subpar paint job on the final piece. (Remember the change in the Han Solo PF images?)

Although I hope for the best. If the paint is done right, this is going to be one of their best pieces yet.

Great looking sculpt, but like others have said why have Indy w/o a hat?!? Makes sense for the 1/6 figure as there are more posing options. But with a PF as badass looking as this, having him w/o the hat looks weird.

BTW, is there a way to see Sideshows pictures full size on their site? I seem to only get small fuzzy pictures.

I'll tell you why, for ease of customization! Seriously, I've said before, I *love* change-o-heads. Makes the option of a custom paint commission much easier. Imagine if there's some sort of production paint debacle. All you have to do is send Josh/Les/etc. the head instead of an entire 1/4 scale statue.

Interesting choice for the Ex but then again the 1:6th comes with both heads. Both sculpts are ringers for Ford and the paint apps look superb on both. I won't display him without the hat but its an interesting choice. The reason the Ex doesn't bother me is its something that people can live without and still feel like they have a great item. I'm not worried at all about how this item will come out.

Click the image, then when it opens, right click it and save it to your hard drive. The viewing system on the SS site shrinks it down a bit.
