Re: The Dark Knight Joker

Look at the Reeve PF, we begged for them to change that(and the P2), but no, can't be bothered. All that leads to is a terrible selling piece and unhappy fans. Very unfortunate.

There is example upon example of SSC not changing anything and then people changing their tune once in Hand photos appear. So I think they feel they know best.. Once in a while they have a misfire but that is part of the biz. I would not mind if they took fan feedback but you risk always upsetting someone.

Re: The Dark Knight Joker

the card is what gives the statue its story... it will not need the Batman to accompany it as it stands on its own. it is a nice nod to the ending of Batman Begins... it allows the viewer's imagination to contribute. it is a work of art that succeeds on many levels.

Re: The Dark Knight Joker

People would have complained about a boring static museum pose.
Oh, I am sure, but a lot less people. Not sure that would qualify as a boring museum pose though, it is an emotional stand your ground look so done right it would convey action more than just standing upright. Could even have a swap out bent arm firing the gun for the "action" pose segment:lol.

Who changed their tune? 4 or 5 people:lol. The EX is still in stock-that tells the story right there. I really wanted that one too.

I was counting that as one of the misfired. Green Lanturn is a good example of fans changing their tune. Granted that was after a kick butt light up feature. There were many who did not like the Spider man coming if memory serves and that is now a classic. Edit..... I just read the Spider thread and there were many who did not care for the piece. Too skinny seemed to be the major complaint. Then the in hand came out and the rest is statue history.

I think a lot of statues get an "in hand" boost and flaws are forgiven or good statues become better. We want to like them. I think that is why some people don't like reading criticism, bubbles don't want burst and all that.

I get that those who bought them want to like them... But there are plenty of times when the in hand photos cause the detractors to go out and look for that item.

Point being... SSC standards work for them in terms of their artistic choices (I don't always agree and have ranted a time or two myself) but I understand why they don't change. Not to mention there are plenty who like the sculpts they put out. Why should SSC change it to make one group of people happy and rish making another group unhappy?

Not sticking up for SSC... I just get why they do what they do.

Re: The Dark Knight Joker

I thought this one was a home run, and looked better and better as more pics came in (head was not too big). It is as if some people WANTED to hate what was on display. I really can't fathom why this is getting picked apart. If anything, the Prime 1 sad clown version was the big let down.

Now I kind of wish I had not ordered the Arkham Joker, as now I will have both plus a Hot Toys Nicholson. Not planning on ordering Bale Batman though, Ledger was my favorite part of those movies.

Re: The Dark Knight Joker

I'm convinced about this piece. I didn't passed on the comic joker so this will be the joker in my collection. I'm considering displaying him with jack sparrow. Somehow fits in my head.

Re: The Dark Knight Joker

The more I look at all the pics, the more I like this statue. Now it just comes down to price for me

Re: The Dark Knight Joker

They can't keep raising the price with EVERY release....although they just about have. Eventually they're going to hit the "keep it" mark. I'm glad I'm down to about 5 more PFs to PO and 3 to track down on eBay.
