It's not perfect and not the most ideal ledger joker premium format, but I will get it to go with Bale. I was hoping for more since this premium format is long over due. The tailoring really makes this piece shine and makes up for the pose, base, and headsculpt short comings.

Agreed.

I actually like the way this came out. Bet it will look awesome with a repaint and rooted hair

I doubt it would improve the likeness but might make it look more realistic though.

Well it's not perfect, but it does look like him from that angle in that pic. I think it just has a stylised/comic look to it. Either way, I hope it looks good in person.

Yeah which is a shame, considering that the Bale PF is not like that at all as it looks very much like Bale as Bats.

Yeah same here. I do think it looks slightly better than the DX11 personally, but yeah they both look very similar.

I don't know about better as far as likeness goes, but because there are no PERS, it doesn't look as toyish as the DX11 one does.

Yeah maybe. Although it might look like he's looking in the wrong direction. Either way, I'm sure you'll find out when you get it.

Not if u position Bats on the same angle. :wink1:

Why did they need to put a stylistic comic look to headsculpt on a movie character is beyond me since they didn't with Bale and this is supposed to be a companion piece.

Agreed. I still like it, but would have preferred a more realistic portrait. Maybe it'll look different in hand, but I doubt it.

Yeah the eyes are definitely better.

Ah, gotcha :)

Well the simple reason is that they can't sculpt Heath's likeness like they can Bale, and thus, since they are unable to do that, they go for the easy option of sculpting the character, rather than the actor, just like Hot Toys did. Now because Heath pulled such strange and weird expressions as the Joker, trying to sculpt an actor doing these expressions, will be hard to do if the sculpt has to retain likeness and realism. This is why it is just easier to make the sculpt look more comical and stylized, if the sculptor wants to capture the essence of the Joker.

Yeah they probably should have made two sculpts, one serious and one like this to satisfy the people that prefer a more realistic look over a stylish one. Maybe by doing that they would have made a sculpt with better likeness. :dunno

Yeah the eyes are definitely better.

Yes but the frowning brow shape is incorrect, not to mention too prominent, giving him that caveman look around that area.

My wife a little while backed ask if I was getting him. I said I wasn't sure. She really liked the tailoring of the clothes, but wasn't thrilled with the base. She wished they toned down the white face paint and had more flesh tone in spots. She knows I am a huge Ledger fan and she loves my Bale premium format. She really digs the 1:4 scale pieces. She looks at them like works of art. Same with 1:6.

Oh I can't wait to get these 2 squaring off, he should be my last piece I get this year, would not have any other joker, just a shame prime 1's is too damn tall

Yeah that's the main reason I have to pass on it. Still on the fence about getting this one, the head sculpt really puts me off the piece.

If he was priced at $400 would it be easier for you to pull the trigger? Just trying to guage if the $499 price makes you more hesitant to pull the trigger. I know it is for me. I will most likely wait for price drop and in hand pics. The Afleck Batman headsculpt fiasco has me really gun shy anymore to preorder without any in hand pics.

No the price would have to be half of what Sideshow is charging for me to get off the fence. But the real issue is just the likeness, I really not keen on having a DX11 statue. Otherwise I like everything else about the statue, the coat doesn't look too thick like Kato's one does.

Wow that looks proto perfect, the clothes look perfect, very well tailored. And the paint job on that sculpt looks quite good to, although looks like the change the style to Mob make up as there is more black around the eyes. I am so amazed how close it looks to the proto, despite how bad the sculpt looks (IMO). The figure overall looks just like the proto, well done Sideshow.

Now let's hope this piece is not plagued with QC problems like Bale Bats is, when it is finally released.

Guess they don't want to make a Batman Vs Superman Batman mistake...can't wait to add this joker to my collection along side the bale one!

What mistake was that?

I'd assume this is going to ship within the month maybe?

They told me March, I bet some people will get it earlier.

Re: The Dark Knight Joker

I wanna see the hair in the back in multiple angles to see if it looks good.

Oh why oh why couldn't they give us an alternate hand to the card holding hand. Maybe holding a grenade or something. When is he ever seen holding a card like that??

I don't even like this movie and I know that scene!

I was really impressed with how close they got it to the prototype too. I was quite worried about this one, but looks like they nailed it like Bale. Hopefully no QC problems as you said.

I actually quite like the way it looks in this shot:

It's not perfect, but would be happy to own it if mine looks like that.
