I highly doubt it will be watered down at all. Have you seen The Dark Knight Returns, Flashpoint, Son of Batman, Batman vs. Robin? Bloodier, heads and body parts being severed, stronger profanity, more skin being revealed. WB is more than fearless enough to push the envelope. I was worried about the Batman franchise as a whole becoming water down after the Aurora tragedy. However, if anything it's become even more violent.

Did you Assualt on Arkham??
When they
blew up the guys head
I was in total shock, never expected that for a second so I have hopes they won't water this down.

I am super excited for this & also hope it means we will start to see DC open up a few more of the back catalogue to animate instead of churning out the much weaker New 52 crap.
I still want so much of the old stuff turned into Animated movies

This is great news! Can't wait for this. :yess:

(and one step closer to those "The Long Halloween" and "Hush" animated adaptations I'm still dreaming of!)

I would love to see them done.

I'm also really hoping we see Sinestro Corp Wars & Blackest Knight one day too

Saying that you support rape because you like The Killing Joke is like saying you support beheadings because you watch Game of Thrones. It's laughable, but DC doesn't inspire confidence when it comes to caving under pressure, so, I'd say that there's a good chance we wake up to news of this project's cancellation and a long winded apology tomorrow.:lol

I don't think Batgirl was raped. That's just terrible. He just shot her, paralyzed her, stripped her naked, took photos of her, and tortured her father...who was also naked.

I think it's pretty implied that she was rapped the same way it was implied that Selina was rapped in Millers's TDKR.

All those kooks have to stop whining and snap out of it. Obviously no one in their right mind supports rape but I'm sure most of us can't say we don't like this in the story to illustrate just how f'd up a Joker is, and to turn the grit, intensity and maturity level up to the max

Society is full of ***** cats nowadays.
They pretend to be vulnerable and then pounce at you with claws after the slightest provocation.

Also, there's no point in making such film.
The story is short and the art is amazing even by today's standards.

At least, not unless they want to change the story or approach up drastically.

Most likely not because it feels like a strike-while-the-noise-is-loud type of thing.
They'll probably just copypast the story since their usual simplified art style and animation will water it down heavily anyway.

I never thought Barbara got raped in the comic. Joker seems above rape. I always thought he just took pictures of her naked wounded body to humiliate her to get to Gordon.

Gordon possibly getting raped on the other hand . . .

Don't forget about 2008 version recolored by Bolland himself.
They'll most likely use his vision for the animated film.

This is fantastic news! I've been waiting years for this! I just pray they don't F it up by not getting Conroy and Hamill Back for this! I mean Hamill has to be a lock right since he's been so vocal about this project in particular. And if he's Joker, you've got to get Kevin back for Bats!

I like the way both look. There's something about the colors in the original that makes it feel so 80's and I like that. Also, I always thought the crazy colors worked well with all the craziness going on in the story. As long as the artwork in the movie resembles Bolland's work, I'm fine with it.

I hate how Bolland got rid of the yellow oval and muted the Joker's colors.

I've always much preferred the original over the recoloured version. You're right about the gaudiness suiting and helping to sell the 'Gordon slowly going insane angle'. The newer version, whilst looking cleaner and more modern, loses the threatening psychedelic edge in trade. Those circus freaks don't look anywhere near as creepy when cast in a more natural light. Tramp urine yellow beats out natural skin tone in the scary little **** stakes every single time.

:yess: ****ing great news. Been waiting a long time for this.

And as for the Batgirl comic....Come on guys, it's not that hard to see why people got upset over that. I love the Killing Joke, but that cover blatantly went against the theme of the book, or the new direction of the character. It didn't even have anything to do with what happened in the issue itself. :dunno

Zero reason for this. No chance it will compare with the comic. How about something original again, DC?

They literally JUST did this with Justice League Gods and Monsters. :lol (Which is pretty good, you should watch it.)
