Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog
Metal Gear Rising had like 4-5 hours gametime and I replayed the hell out of it and it was worth the 60$.
I think you're being a little demanding considering the average game nowadays is 4 hours tops.
If you want game length, stick with Final Fantasy.
I don't know what games your playing (other than the one you mentioned) and I don't think I'm being demanding. To be honest, I think a mentality like yours is music to a game makers ears. It basically says, do very little work and don't worry about giving me value for my money, cause I'll just give you my cash no matter what the final product is.
Even if that 4 to 5 hours of gameplay is the absolute best gaming experience you have ever had, it doesnt warrant a $60 price tag. Sell that same game for $20 and I might concede that point to you. To me that is like being charged $100 for a movie ticket, and then arguing that it was totally worth it. Some people are just too eager to throw away their money I guess.
Compare your fave to something like Elder Scrolls or GTA, literally those games offer hundreds of hours of gameplay. Are you going to tell me that Rockstar or Bethesda didnt put as much effort into a game as say Metal Gear Rising? So much more went into Skyrim or GTA 5 than the one you mentioned, or at least I feel safe to bet since I never played it. They cant all be as big as Elder Scrolls or GTA, but then there are games like Mass Effect which also has much more gameplay value.
Personally, I don't play Final Fantasy anymore, after FFX (which was very good) I found the series vey boring and derivitive.
I wish people wouldnt let these game companies make big profits and release games at full price that give very little back to the consumer.
All that being said TLOU was incredible, it kept me on the edge of my seat for 30 to 32 hours, which for this game was fine. The only problem is, most games can't compare to TLOU, and had it been only 4 or 5 hours long, I would have never bought another Naughty Dog game again.
I think you expect too little.
